There is no test or any assessment to split the girls up according to their ability for Primary 1. At the end of Primary 1, they will be ranked 1st according to their Math results, followed by their English results. They will then be placed into Class C and G for Primary 2 and Class B and D for the subsequent years. The other classes are of mixed ability.

Nonetheless, my observation is that they rotate the teachers around from Primary 2 to Primary 6(i.e don't see any obvious practice to allocate only 'good' teachers to only 'good classes').

have u registered under the earlier phase? Are u staying at Toa Payoh? I am also v excited cos first kid mah.

As my DS is in boy school, I cannot put my DD in the same school.


So I monitor MOE website for various girl school all Phases before Phase 2C and finally decide on MCS as quite confirm no ballot in Phase 2C.

Which boys sch is your DS in now?? I'm in search for a boys school near my place.. Headache coz non around here.

I'm looking at St Andrews/Maris Stella/St Joseph but all seems difficult to get in w/o balloting.

Thanks alot for your info!!! Slightly relieved coz I heard some schools make them do some test on 1st day then split them up.. It's good that the teachers are mixed ard..

Oh, another ques can? I realised P1-2 have 6-8 classes, how come when it's P3 and above, the classes are lesser? I thought by right it shld be no more than 30 students in a class?? Then where did the rest went to? Transferred out?

There are 30 pupils in a class for Primary 1 and 2 and 40 pupils in each class from Primary 3 onwards.

All schools are the same, except for GEP classes. There are 30 pupils in a class for Primary 1 and 2 and 40 pupils in each class from Primary 3 onwards.[/quote]Ohhh okies.. I'm noob. My hubby was telling me, cannot be all transferred out right? :lol:
