Indeed cos it is not time for me to register my boy yet hahaha... well , it's OK then... there's always SSS for us ... guess won't bother shifting ....looks like we'll stay in Siglap for a while now
You must have not been paying much attention to CHS' this year P1 registration.maisy:
But I am now considering PV-ing for CHS - we can consider moving there once my boy gets into CHS. But hubby always think SSS is good of cos (being old boy). I wonder if it is very tough to PV for CHS and try to get my boy in. ANyone can advise? If tough, then better to settle for SSS - afterall we love the school grounds of SSS.
For phase 2B (which is the phase you will be in if you successfully PV for CHS), there are 48 applicants for ONLY 9 places! That's 1 in 5 chance of getting selected, and it's THE most oversubscribed school in Singapore at phase 2B.
So is it tough to get your boy in? I'll let you be the judge.
thanks !

if I knew earlier, I would have just buy a unit in novena, as we qualified for 2A2 at SJIJ, instead of trying luck at CHS.

Smurf! Your DS already confirmed for SJIJ under 2A2, right? Congrats! :celebrate: Now SJIJ for 2B also need to ballot too...so it's just as 'hot'. Cheer up....when property prices are more stable, maybe you can embark on a new purchase in Novena?

No thanks! we just moved and would really hate to move again...shifting is very tiring...and with 2 kids, even tougher...:(
unless of cos, if we are uncomfortable...

Hi all, if u hv 2 catholic children (a boy & a girl), would u send them to separate catholic schools or just a nearby co-ed neighbourhood sch or a co-ed catholic school which is quite out of the way?
Im having difficulty deciding now. Im a catholic myself. -

How far apart are they in terms of age? Also, are you staying near any co-ed Catholic schools eg: DLSHi all, if u hv 2 catholic children (a boy & a girl), would u send them to separate catholic schools or just a nearby co-ed neighbourhood sch or a co-ed catholic school which is quite out of the way?

I'm Catholic too and have a ds and dd. I prefer to send them to same gender Catholic schools. Partly becoz my family comes from a long line of people who went to such mission schools. I want to maintain the tradition coz I can see the good points. Definitely no neighborhood schools for my kids if I can help it coz I want them inculcated with Catholic values. Co-ed Catholic schools such as Holy Innocents I still can accept. Did you go to a mission school yourself as a kid? -

3 yrs apart. And no, im not staying near a co-ed catholic school, the nearest one would be Holy Innocents but even that its still quite far!

I'd want my children to go to catholic schools too. Ive always wanted that but because my kids are a boy and a girl, im worried about the logistics and also the distance. u'see, we probably wont stand a chance with the super popular catholic schools in AMK and Bishan cos out of 1km and the others are a little far for us. But I do have 2 catholic schools in mind though. Mind telling me where ur kids are studying now? For myself, i went to a co-ed non-mission school. I agree that as catholics, we should really enrol them in catholic schools.
