[Bukit Timah] Primary Schools

Haha good idea, provided those schools can live up to their 'famous' names and produce good results hee..
Yes, you are right and I know utimately, there must be a cap on the number of applicants.
I have this sudden crazy idea... why not build more \"top schools\"? You know like Nanyang Junior, Raflles Girls Junior, MGS junior... This is modeled after ACS primary and ACS junior since both are equally esteemed. Haha...
And btw congrats! :celebrate: -

I thought of that too. So if they weren't going to move nearer, then missing out on NYPS may be a blessing in disguise for the child.Hi Fabbymum,
your friend stays in Bedok and go all the way to NYPS?? Pretty long journey for the kiddo... -
BigDevil:
there are kids who school-bus all the way from Pasir Ris to NYPS. So, Bedok is not so bad la.....when the bus started at Pasir Ris, the kid can just wake up at Bedok and still be in time ....lol

I know there are...so I kinda pity them too.
It will be good if they are the kind who can fall asleep in a moving car.
Unfortunately, DD is not one.

I guess for some parents they have done the weighing between "choice of school" versus travelling time and conclude that the sacrifice in terms of sleep is worth it.

Yes, I am a member of a methodist church and bought my place way even i had my 1st kid! We bought our current place to be near our parents.
did u go into P2B as a member of the church?sassy:
Thank God my girl's slip got picked! Gosh! My husband and I were so nervous. When I came back home, I was mentally and physically drained but I said a little prayer for the 5 girls who were unsuccessful. I prayed that they will go to phase 2c and there will be NO balloting for all categories!
Keep our fingers crossed for them! I really do not want anyone to go through this scary experience.
You know, i was one of those suaku women who didnt know anything about volunteering, 1km priority or balloting! I thought all kids who lived nearby the school will be given a place. It was only when i had my first child and people started asking me about my plans for him, then i realised the madness that goes with Primary 1 registration.
I was so relieved that hubby is old boy of ACSP but I still kena have to suffer for my daughter. -

The information is listed on the MOE website. As far as I know, there are balloting for Phase 2B for application staying > 2km.Anyone know the breakdown of Pei Wah under P2b?
Applicants for:-
? less than 1km
? within 1 -2km
? more than 2km?
I'm staying within 1km of Pei Wah.. But seems that even \"study\" the past balloting history also doesn't seems to apply this year. Plus, the facts there are many new properties rising in the same area.... don't know how it will be for 2C. Haiz......
For Phase 2C, it will all depends on the number of applicants, there are 43 available seats. -

Even we have more good schools, parents will still want to pick the best from the best and try all the way to get in the few top ones. -
I just want to share my girlfriend’s experience with any parent who is feeling discouraged.
She had to ballot in the within 1km category for both phase 2B & 2C and unfortunately, wasn’t successful. Imagine her disappointment! So she had to accept MOE’s allocation to a school that is 30 mins away by school transport from her home. But she put her daughter’s name on wait-list at the school which she had balloted at.
Her daughter was into her 1st term at the new school when the school she wait-listed for called my gf to tell her that they have a vacancy.
So, please don’t lose hope. Try all you can. You never know if your luck will change for the better. -

If you have younger ones will go under phase 1 in either school which definitely guarentee u a place. :celebrate:
