      Hi Moonee,

You're right, my Myanmar maid is a christian. How did you guess? And you are right again, I got her thru the agency at BT shopping ctr. You used them b4? are they good in terms of service? Frankly, I find them more pro-maid than pro-employer...

      moonee:

My guess is yr myanmar is a Christian. (correctme if Im wrong) Im sending mine back to the agent this afternoon, I think shes gonna get a shock. My Myanmar does not speak english but is really hardworking and has the right attitude for work. She came in one half months ago, shes the village type so she knows how to wash by hand, used to sell tomatoes in the market. Shes quite witty and tries very hard to please.
Yes , I notice my bread can last longer then when I had the other nationalities. Mine made her own chilli and brought it to spore, altho petite in size she eats RICE like an ox. I could not believe my eyes when I saw her eating 4 to 5 bowls of rice. My maggi mee has not been touched since she came. My mum used to cook one half cup of rice but since she came its been 2 half to three cups for dinner. As we are all small eaters, theres a lot left so we didnt mind her eating more. She simply cant go without rice. Anyway , I hv controlled her excessive input of rice so now she has cut down.
It can b frustrating in the begining with a fresh myanmar but do be patient if u think she has the right working attitude. U need to demonstate quite a bit, basically u got to show her how u want things to b done. Ask yr maid whether she has a english to myanmar dictionery. She probably have one. After a month of checking, she will definitely improve in her english and know ur house duties. We hv been taking the other nationalities for so long that we tend to take for granted that they should know the basics, try to remind urslf that the burmese are not exposed. they cant even tell lies properly sometimes. btw did u get yr maid frm bukittimahShppng cte?

I use Utd Channel, Ist time with them so no complains yet. They seem to b very firm with their maids, My maid stole my mums diamond earings and we have tried all methods to get it back for a month but shes very stubborn and denied taking it. Theres no doubt about it , she stole it and s long s u dnt catch her redhanded, she will deny till the end ...
I guess yr maids a Christian cos you didnt mention about her english and she know nuts about house work, I guess shes the fair type, chinese looking yah?

Tks for your comments on the changing attitude of maids nowadays. sigh.....

Yes if possible can you share why you send back your maid since attitude wise she is ok? Pls pm me or email me at [email protected] if you can. I may be interested in your maid if she does not have other serious fault.

        Tks 🙂

mw chua....You are right, times have changed, people hv changed too. u hv been out of touch for too long, yr last few maids completed their contracts. Nowadays the Indons are more educated and the filipinas are flooding the market with the try try attitude. They know they can choose their houses as long as they hv a loan, not all come in with the intention towork, sad to say, M.O.M is all for them, n they know it. :x

an one lucky filipina inherited a cool S$6m inheritance[/quote

yah, and with news like this, can expect much more filipinas to come in to try their luck, probably their first priority iin their biodatas will be to look after the sick and elderly

If my employer tells me constantly that I will receive part of the profit-sharing and/or pension if I serve well. Wouldn’t I be a very good and faithful servant too? Just thinking out loud…

              😎

Hi, just wondering if anybody used or heard of this maid agency before?? They are called SUPER SERVANTS located at Sunshine Plaza...

My impression is that they don't have very good quality maids (i.e. they try to pass you \"rejects\" instead of recommending the one that is most suitable for your household type) and I don't quite like the way the old man there \"talks down\" to me. Hmmmmm 😐

hard to trust those newly established maid agencies

in this kind of business, how long a company stays in the business speaks for itself

I might disagree with you... sometimes if the agency is new they try to give good maids to have their business grow and sometimes old agency just take u for granted :stupid: ... so whether the agency is new or old the good maid depends on ur luck 😛

luck also depends on your selection criteria

old agencies if consistently bringing in lousy maid will fold up in due time....and re-register as new agency - earning upfront money from the maid - that is all...hence they have no chance to become 'old'

have you visited those old name agencies who have been around a long time and see what kind of facilities they have before they bring in the maid ? their fees charged to employers are not cheap

some agencies claimed to have training centre but in actual fact they sub out - so you need to find out what they meant by training.

so far i used one agency since 1995 and every time no problem - in fact very maid.....all worked for at least two contracts ..... they only reason they go back is due to wanting to look for husband back home or due to wanting to retire - earned enough

Haiz...this is conditional on the person THINKING.

I only have to update my maid's bank passbook and she will go all dreamy and throw my instructions out of the door. Grandma reminded her only in the afternoon, by eve, already forgot. Both maids the same....

(FYI, I put the money faithfully into their account first day of the month; but becos the passbook is with them, I only update once in a while).
