Yep all (p1 - P6) must reach sch by 7.30 am. DD2 very thrilled to travel in same sch bus with her Big sister !! Already confirmed with sch bus uncle; he will pick both of them at 6.25 am but we have to fetch them back ourselves (DD1 P6 must wait in sch for DD2 to finish at 10.30 am); we can then go to parkway to celebrate !!

hi parent, do you experienced things like this with kong hwa? the teacher tends not to inform the student when there is no cca and there is very little homework from teacher. Results from students dropped and teacher never do much. My girl was transferred from other school in the west, never have I left so hopeless with this school. do not know why neighbourhool school is so much better than this.

You should feedback to school. My DD's class just the opposite. She has too many homework but the problem is the teachers take ages to mark and return to them.

yes, i have been reminding the teacher to give homework. my girl result deteriorated so much. in fact before she came to this school, she was at the best class in the neigbourhood school. teacher there are attentive and really feedbacks to parents their progress. they even have daily challenging math questions. here i get nothing until i saw the result. i was so shocked. I am very worry whether the school prepare average student like my girl well before PSLE or just focus on good students…

Actually I feel that its the opposite cos my boy is in P 1 and there can be too much HW in one night. Very often, you may not get any for some days and an awful lot in some. That is pretty demotivating for a small child and coupled with spelling or show n tell the next day, child gets paralysed with stress.

when my girl was in P1 in the neigbourhool school, her homework was overwhelmed as well. After some feedbacks given to the teacher. the homework was averaged out over 5 days. Gradually after so many years, we are so used to having homework from school. But now at kong hwa, not many and usually she finishes in less than 30 mins. i really hope the teacher can do something because these two yrs are very important to my girl and one yr is ending soon with no improvement…

If your gal is in P5 this year, then you may want to know that there is a big jump from P4 to P5. Many used to score 85 and above in P4 may not be able to do the same in P5.

Also, my advice is do not 100% depend on school. Sad to say that we as parents have no choice but to give "extra" to our kids if you think school does not give sufficient.

Yep truly agreed with ycpang, we can’t depend on the teacher 100%. Having said that having more or less homework is not a tool to gauage how well is our child doing in school and whether our child understand a certain topic. Here comes our role being parents to spend time to do the necessary revision with our child. I do agree that foundation is important however we cannot depend on teachers fully on that.

Side track: Does anyone knows what time does our kid need to report to school this Friday, the circular only states the dismissal time but no reporting time. Is it 7.10am, 7.20am or 7.30am?

My DD's FT said by 7.20am.
Until now the RS bus transport still have not confirm the timing yet. 😞
