Thought many kids have problems with Chinese? Imagine the cramming for the university enrolment....that's one stress I rather do without. 😛

exactly what i said, the grass appears greener on the other side. as hquek states, China is certainly no better. The cram schools in Beijing for the best universities and the amount of effort (+ suicides) are ridiculous.

You have to live in China to appreciate, the standard/quality of life is comparable to Singapore or better. Even the toilets are alot more hygenic/clean now. I am referring to coastal regions like dalian, tianjin, beijing, shanghai, xiamen, shenzhen etc.

No choice lor, can’t get in good schools here, gotta go overseas to find good international schools.

              mintee:
Total to date for NYPS - 63 versus 36 vacancies.

              suggested number for 4D :

              3663 or 6336

NYPS - 62 within 1km, RGPS - 52 within 1km..............wow, many SPRs had converted to SCs this year. I thot year of the monkey was one of the lowest birth rate in the decade. With so many SPRs (70K in 07, 90K in 08 and 150K in 09), wonder what's left for us, SC.

Good thing is, the election is not held this year. Most of us affected will know whom we want to vote for.......sign........
how can you be sure those are many converted from SPR to SC within 1 km ?

simple, ask the staff manning the registration, Singapore born e.g. SXXX1234G vs Foreign born SCs vs SPRs S2XXX123F lor. How do you account for the 54 applied to date for RGPS compared 06 to 09.

You have to stay within 1km from these schools to know, they are all around here. Listen and you know what i mean. We can tell whether we are are singaporeans when we open our mouths.

look at your neighbours, to buy landed properties, you either have to be a singaporean or SPR with approval from Min of Law. I have neighbours who bought condo units, terrace, semi-D and detach houses in the recent years. They don’t look or sound like singapore born. be it dark or fair.

I am not again our migration policy and certainly not holding grudges against any SPRs or new acquired SCs. I welcome competition when it comes to P1 registration. But looking at the numbers, felt that SCs should desire a bit more. We have made scarifice be it National Service or heeding the nation’s call to procreate.

Hi Juanthedragon, still dont get you. How can you tell the SPRs converted to SCs -- you mean conversion will have a different set of IC numbers? :?

Btw, dont think you can really tell singaporeans or not cos actually to be honest, most malaysians also talk like us.
