hi, i am new to this forum and is currently looking for a nursery school to send my only kid (turning 3 yrs) next yr.

we live in amk & would prefer a nursery in the area...

she has not gone to any classes before... :oops:

we would prefer school with only 3 hours or so a day (not child care) for kid to interact with other children (being an only child, she doesn't have much chance to hang around other children).

actually, i am quite surprised by how difficult finding a school is...

have checked out some of the cc/kiddys in the area.
1) Kinderland Serangoon - thot it was not bad... only drawback is that it is a bit far from AMK

2) Kinderland YCK - visited the place & frankly, we prefer the Serangoon branch.. the adminstrator sounded a bit blur... but location is better for us

3) Learning Vision @ Grassroots - no comments yet cos scheduled for visit next week

pls provide your views if u have any other experience (good, bad, neutral) of the above.

If any other suggestions, pls feedback as well. Thanks.

ps... :?: feel that AMK really has very little preschools for such a BIG estate....

I agree with you that it is not easy to find a good pre-school (with vacancies) in AMK. I have also checked out all you have listed already but either I don't like or no vacancies. My DS turning 3 this year.

But there are quite good ones around, other suggestions as follows:

(1) Carpe Diem @ Hilltop (Yio Chu Kang) - new CCC
(2) Marymount Kindergarden - fantastic feedback from parents
(3) Totsville Montessori Enrichment Centre @ Bishan
(4) Shaws @ Bishan

Any review on Singapore Montessori Kindergarten at Thomson? I’ve visited the place and it looks fairly decent. However the timing is weird, the morning is from 8.15 - 11.15pm.

What's so weird about that timing? When my elder kids were in kindy at a traditional church kindy, it was that timing too.

have heard about carpe diem but have not called…

visited learning horizon during the weekend… quite like the place. anybody has feedback on this?

yeah i think it’s bcos there it is a old estate with very few young kids.

Ironically,the estate is old such that there are new couples moving in and have young kids under 2.
i guess for this parents they do not know about these online forums.
The rest are parents of kids p1-sec school

My gal used to attend Singapore Montessori kindergarten near Thomson Plaza. They take from 2.5 to 6 yrs old. Maybe you would like to check it out.
