All About Parent Volunteers (PV)

Hi all, I find the forum very informative and I have a question.


Please forgive me if its been asked before.

My wife and myself are doing PV at 2 different schools. How would the schools choose if both of us are successful?

Will they be able to check on the system and tell us that we are to choose one? Or will they just automatically choose one school for us?

u can only register your child at one school for Phase 2B

I thought i shouldnt waste time doing pv since i most likely wont stand a chance next year. The birth rate surged in 2005 so most likely it’ll be very competitive next yr too. I dont know…am thinking of pulling out. Hubby thinks i should continue since i was lucky enough to get selected. The other sch im looking at is in AMK and also got balloting and its too late to volunteer now. Sigh!!

Haha! I like that! Tks! Will seriously consider. Im not working now just so i can do pv. Just hoping that effort will pay off.

Im assuming you are registering in 2011 for 2012 P1. Have you given your name to the school for PV duties yet?? If not, doubt you can apply now liao. Closing date over already.

Hi Vicki, im already a pv of the school, but was saying i'd like to quit since i dun think i'll stand a chance next yr as im staying out of 1km. Of course it's too late now to pv for my 2nd choice of school.

Yup Xinxin, if the school you are PV for is ATS, you can forget it unless you move <1km away. I am <1km from both ATS and CHS, and qualify for Phase 2B for CHS. I gave up for both. Your only chance now could be to continue PV and move house nearer to that school. Be warned, this may also not get you that coveted school (I am a very good example).

Let us know more details? We only truly wish to help with the right kind of advice. For ATS, bear in mind that Ai Tong has many SHHK clansmen jostling with PVs at P2B.

why gave up while you were eligible for 2B?
