I cannot imagine if all popular schools now need to ballot within 1km. In the future, MOE may need to issue a list of schools where those out of 1km need not apply. :!:


Good news for those who have properties within 1km of these popular schools.... :roll:

Supposing born and bred Singaporeans register their kids in hot schools, then PRs and newly converted SCs are also doing the same, hoping that the 2 ballot will work in their favour.

Frankly, i'm hoping for a transfer as i dont want my gal to travel longer journey just to get to sch...

Wow i saw rgps had 94 applicants on tue, but yest dropped to 76 so guessed a lot withdrew. Are u staying 1-2km or out of 2km?

For the past 6 years all those staying within 2km were assured of a place.. This year suddenly so many applicants staying so near ah...

1-2km....thats why i withdrew at 4pm, after hanging ard e school compound for an hr, hoping to at least hv a chance to ballot...
sad right...for past 6yrs, within 2km was safe..this yr, i dont even get a chance to ballot....shocking

due to so many new condo and cluster housing around RGPS - Hillcrest Residences, Greenwood, Casabella, Duchess Residence, Duchess Manor, The Tresor, Shelford.....all these are within 1 km of RGPS which did not exist 6 years ago

maybe in the past pp blur blur and think RGPS sure no chance. so those hardy souls took a dare and got a place for their DDs. Now with ksp and what nots, pp are better informed.....and thus the change in fortunes. idea? :idea:

So those staying in Pulau Ubin cannot think of dream of getting into RPGS anymore.

Lionel, you are not the only 1. My hubby when heard need to ballot becoz of 2 more kids, he also said why not just take them in since its not like extra 10. Can save all the heartbreaks. And we are not registering until next yr. Anyone knws what happen if the kids within 1 km cant get in? Where exactly is the next nearest school for us? All the schs at bukit timah like need to ballot for less than 1 km. There are simply no backup plans unless moving away.

Yup, there isn't a single school in BT which doesn't require at 1km. If kenna balloted out, have to look at schools in Bukit Batok.
