jedamum, once we had to collect some food from elsewhere for the school carnival. We reached the collection point say 8am but only physically reached the school at 9am. But the person i/c still signed our timesheet starting from 8am. Guess you have to pre-agree with the person i/c of signing the timesheet how much time is required for certain items etc.?hi parents,
any idea about pv work that is not done in school physically?
eg like write a programme for the school, craftwork for school's fundraising etc etc....wonder how to clock hours for work done at home for the school purpose.... -

You can ask if they need help to design new website or maintain new website .... -
Hi mummies, I'm new to this website and it's great info!
I'm trying to get my daughter into SCGS in 2011 (she's now in K1) but it's really hard to become a PV there. Any suggestions on how to get selected? Anyone know what sorts of skill sets SCGS is looking for?
I'm also thinking of moving closer to within 1km of the school. Do you know by which date i have to be at the new address to use it for the registration in 2010? -
Jugglermum:
I don't think SCGS takes in new PV for 2B. They have enough PV from their existing students (ie. P1 - P6 parents). The only success story I heard of to get into SCGS is to be community leader or RC member in that GRC. Moving to within 1km will of course enhance your chance of getting into the school.Hi mummies, I'm new to this website and it's great info!

At the time of registration during 2B, the school will base on the address stated on your IC to determine the distance from the school.
Hope this helps. -

Bluefish,
'Fishing' Tips
have you had the opportunity to tour our site yet?
there is a thread on bukit timah schools, where you can get the related info or parents contact/network - shouldn't be able to miss that if you do a quick search.
it is only fair to parents who had taken the time and effort to share their knowledge/experiences if we can just do a quick tour or search for the info we need prior to posting.
imagine...our poor CKS merging tons of threads daily....

Hi Jedamum, thanks for yr info. I will keep this in mind. Recently, I have been to Glory Presbyterian Church which is next to PHPPS and someone has told me that if i get endorsed by the church, my son (in N2 now) will stand a higher chance ie Phase 2B to get into PHPPS. Is this true?

you will stand a higher chance by being able to take part in Phase 2B.
all applicants under Phase 2B has the same chance, but if there is balloting, priority will be given to those residing <1km from the school followed by those 1-2km away, ie. no additional priority for church members, or pvs or grassroots connections.
we have more info http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=243&start=0. -
Thanks of your info. So what is the advantage of being the member of church/clan who is living more than 2km from the desired school?

you have to check out the school's past stats to have a gauge of your chance under phase 2B as you are residing >2km from the school. if there are balloting, you will be in an extremely risky position. you can get the stats link at the first page of this thread.
being a church member only give you a chance to participate in Phase2B which otherwise will leave you with only Phase2C option.
