        Hi,

Balloting can be very stressful for some parents. Diff sch do thier balloting differently. Last yr, I went for my gal’s balloting at St Margt. All the appliciants’ name were written in a piece of paper, the school read out each and evevryone’s name and there were relflected on OHP. The names were then transferred into a transparent "fish tank". Principal will draw the 1st name, whoever gotten drawn had to go up stage to help to draw the next applicant.

If the lucky gal’s parent was not in the hall to view the balloting, that parent on stage has to continue to draw for another applicant. You can go only go down the stage till you draw 1 gal who parent was in the hall.

Haha…I was alone last yr and was so stress when you see all happy parents sitting beside you left n right, behind u, in front u all cheering for thier sucess i balloting. At last when they flashed my gal’s name(last 10 lucky gals) on OHP, I was stunned for awhile and couldn’t believe my eyes and ears.

Goodluck to all of them who are going for your balloting. Begin to think which sch to go should your child didn’t get into your dream school.Prepare for it and take it easy.

        Enjoy National day first!

it is the mad scrambling by parents to want to send the kids to the very popular schools that cause the supply - demand disconnect though the supply - demand is always \"more than balanced\"

Like what I said before, lower birth rate or not, popular schools remain popular. Their demand will not fall just because there are less babies.

And in this forum of kiasu parents, the talks centred on these popular schools. So their demand and their lack of places to satisfy the KSPs demanding them, gets highlighted most often.

Lol!!!!!!!! the more often these popular schs get highlighted in THIS FORUM, the more it shall be in demand! so right!

alamak ! we all also at fault, contributing to the demand - supply imbalance of the top /popular schools

Popular schools will remain popular…then PRs arrive and ask around about schools, they will join the queue too. In order to have better chance, either one will then convert to SC for that 2 ballot slip.

Easier said, enjoy the long weekend first.

I was of the impression that it must be the dad and the child to be SC before they qualify for 2 ballot slips. So, mum and child combination is also ok? interesting

I have the impression that only the child needs to be SC.. When does the parent come into the picture..? hmm..

But of coz.. base on immigration policies.. naturally 1 of the parent will be SC before the child can become SC.. but.. that's under ICA jurisdiction.. not MOE.. MOE only look at child.. I guess.
