Yes, balloting within 1km at 2B will happen. Those staying out of 2km will not stand a chance to go for ballot. Being a PV is insufficient. What’s next ?

Another friend of mine, her kids are in NYPS, told me that she sang in one of the events too.

The 2009 article said her son was 5yo then. So shouldn't she be registering this year?

I guess for next year registration will be too late to reduce, cos the parents should have already started to PV. Maybe from next year PV intake onwards.

Yeah, next year's ones are surely too late, but they can do so for subsequent ones... like HPPS, it has reduced its PV intake so much, 17 places were rolled over from 2B to 2C this year, and they will be balloting for 1-2 km instead of within 1km for previous years.

Gahmen once labelled those who had migrated overseas as quitters…If those quitters did not leave, the overseas’ quitters would not have come. They come because Singapore has more to offer other than education, job opportunities and subsidized housing. The peace and security we the old (born and bred here) have taken for granted, the quality of our air vs theirs’ pollution. Last, these immigrants appreciate the present seed of government and i quote Straits Times columnist Rachel Chang in her article “New citizens and the next GE (24 June 2010)” that new citizens regularly express overwhelming support for the ruling People’s Action Party (PAP), with some even going to the point of unfettered adulation and admiration.

The government tells us to have more babies, but we can’t even secure a place for our daughters in our neighbourhood school - which is what RGPS is to all those citizens staying within 1 km of the school. The government really needs to re-think its policies. First of which is that citizens should have priority in school selection over PRs and not just one more ballot vote. Afterall, we are citizens of Singapore and should enjoy more benefits. If the PRs are serious about making Singapore their home, they can become citizens and not just PRs, who enjoy the benefits only and do not give back to the country (eg. by serving NS).


I think that all parents who applied under 2C (1km) for RGPS should write to the MOE in addition to the principal to ask that the 2 extra be absorbed!
