We are so used to him telling us what's good for us and we gladly accept without much complaints. I wonder what's life will be like without him?

For sure, we will bear the brunt of political and economic uncertainties. For some, it will be opportune time to buy real estate in prime districts.

The property market will collaspe when an old guard passed on. I believe you can decipher for yourself.

          I doubt so.

He will be missed when he move on, but Singapore will survive and continue to grow.

Plus i think we would most likely have an additional public holiday to commenmorate his achievements and how far we have come along? 😉

well said, i can imagine parts of bukit timah submerged, causing flood waters to rise knee-high, partially submerging ground-floor buildings and cars and causing untold damage.”. FYI, bukit timah was hit twice (nov 09 and jul 10). Not all properties in bukit timah are premium, there are alot of affordable properties if you know where to find them (below 1K psf).

I think that would be at Upper Bukit Timah - aka Beauty World area?

Property prices will not fall beyond previous low, even with passing of old guards. I believe it will only happen when macro-economics really falters (depression which causes huge # of expatriates leaving. With receession, it ain’t happening - we witnessed this during yr 08 crisis. Below 1kpsf, probably Duchess Crest (99yrs) but can’t recall whether within 1km of NYPS.

I was considering "The Shelford" when price was 1100psf, for 3 bedrm, will cost ard $1.7m then, now at least $2m. Need to wait for another 2 yrs (I believe) for prices to drop (but will not be lower than 1100psf). Owner will not sell unless prices is really attractive (rental income is not too bad either).

try mayfair gardens - opposite king albert park. Low psf but that's because it's 99 LH.
