CHIJ Family of Schools

Thanks so much for answering my question. I called up Catholic High, CHIJ TPY and CHIJ St. Nicholas, they said as long as one of the parents is Catholic, the child can be registered under 2B....I am not sure though, seems like a lot of different answers from different schools. My daughter will be registered next year. But I will still perform PV for the school of choice, as I think it is important to know the school better through various activities.
By having frequent interaction with the school admin, parents get to know more about the culture, teachers & principal...there's no better way other than PV. That was how hubby was convinced to register son in the school then. -

When I asked ST nicholas, it was that the child has to have baptismal cert. Cath High also checks for Baptismal cert at registration, i remember. I forgot to bring my daughter's original baptismal cert - only brought the photocopy, and I had to go home to get it some more, i recall. The school wanted to see the original baptismal cert. -

YuenFong99, if I am not wrong, the catholic schools do not accept PVs until after your child is in cuz you are already going in as priority under the Catholic Phase 2B but then again, better to check with the schools. To be really honest, if you don't fall under the Phase 1 to Phase 2A2 phase, it is best to stay near the school cuz distance matters now. If your parents or in laws or siblings stays near the school within 2km, get them to do a statutory declaration at MOE . See link here under Point F http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/required-documents/ That will be your best bet. If really CHS/CHIJ St Nic's/ ACS and Ai Tong, you have to ballot within 1km. Good Luck!!![/url]yuenfong99:

Thanks for the tips. I am actually doing volunteer works for St. Nicholas, and stay within 1km…but based on the past year balloting statistic…the chance is still very slim…

yuenfong99, what kind of pv jobs that you are helping the school at the moment ? I called up St Nick…they asked us to check with them again about applying as PV next year, as currently they are only calling those parents’ girls born in 2006.

So IJ St Nic is accepting PVs ? -
Yup. They told us 2 criterias. 1 - Kid must be Singapore Citizens. 2 - Must stay within 1 km .

Other than CHIJ St Nicholas which is a SAP school, how is the standard for the rest ? Can mummies care to give their opinions pls ?
Thanks
