Art Zone

Hi titank,
Yes, every inidividual need to go through Basic & intermediate. There are some on going workshops, which you can try out. I m not too sure if there are any trial classes/ free assessment, which we didn't attend. Initially I went to place to have a look & ask what the children will be learning from the lesson, esp for my gal who has turned 5 this year. When I was there, I saw some students who were attending the class and they were doing some work, so they explained to me. There are some work displayed in the centre too.
As for the class size, it varies. As the lessons are flexible based, you can go as and when you like. Usually I go on weekend, I see there are about 3-4 teachers in the class. The students usually do not exceed 10. My gal has been there for 4 months.
I can show you a picture of what she has painted during 2nd lesson. Oh dear, I dont know how to upload an image here, can you guide me so I can upload?titank:

I would like to find out what the children learn in ArtZone.
Do the teachers teach drawing (as in draw things, people, animals, etc) or more on craft work? Do the whole class learn the same thing or selection of craft by individual?
Thanks. -
Hi sunshine05,
My daughter learns drawing and painting. There are items like boxes and masks that we have bought separately for my daughter to paint while she was there. We did this mainly because she wasn’t in the mood for paper!
It’s all individual, no group learning, although the kids do sit next to each other. My daughter has been attending for the last two years, since she was 4 and is considered quite advanced so they’ve recently started showing her secondary school techniques just to see if she can do it.
Themed workshops are held every week/month too and these are more craft-based. -
Dear all parents,
For those who are keen to find out more about Art zone/ sign their kids for the lessons, you may wish to look at the art work which my DD has done. My DD is currently 5.5yo and she started her lessons at Art zone in Mar (6 months) and I do see some progress in her work.
These are art pieces which are done in the class, and I do asked her to show me based on what she has learnt and paint the same pictures at home without guidance.

I recommend this art teacher Thom.
He is doing it on a house-to-house basis, on a one-to-one arrangement. The students under him have even won competitions, the latest being the LTA art comp i think...
My kids enjoy his classes a lot, from using mixed media, using oil pastels to poster and watercolour and the works.
Not justthat, he incorpaorates crafts into his lessons, so the kids get to do craftwork which they display in their studyroom.
His price may be pricey, but worth every penny spent! Ive never believed in cheap CC courses where you get 30 kids of varying ages vying for the attention of one teacher... NO WAY!
but I'm happy to see my kids learn to appreciate art, and have a better understanding of colours and textures and shapes around us... Most importantly, they have learnt patience!!! this is a virtue i can't stress more, especially for my DD who can be a bit of a hyperactive handful. Those with an active todd will know what i mean haha
Anyways, here's the webby

Dear Mariadcruz,
I click the link for a check. 10 lessons for a minimum of $500 is real expensive. -

Hi Charmaine, yeah, I started off thinking quite the same way. But when i saw the results, I was really satisfied. My two can be quite a handful, especially with a lil ADHD...but that's another story. Teacher Thom showed a lot of patience and I saw with my own eyes how they improved , not just in art but all areas of life.. The teacher doesn't just teach them art, but uses other materials and art mediums(?)...Also he speaks to them like friends, that's what my darlings tell me...Dear Mariadcruz,

which is what I would have wanted for a teacher when I was a kid!Ha! My two tells me they enjoy the class, unlike other academic ones where the teacher just comes across as stern and ....too serious.
I wouldn't say money is not an issue, but when the results came in, and I saw my DD and DS so so happy with their artwork and about themselves, I felt it's worth it... As a parent, I can't help but think their the centre of my life and I don't want money to be the one thing that holds me back from helping them in any way I possibly can...
I don't know if other parents feel the same way.

Dear Mariadcruz,
Appreciate a lot for your feebacks.
May i know how old are your kids now and how long it takes to see results?
Is this a group learning or one to one session?
I am sorry to hear that your kids have little ADHD? How do you confirm that they are ADHD? I guess you must have hard times dealing with them.
Mind to share can your kids read yet?
