      Hi all

Just wondering, is it better for my kid (who goes to P1 next year) to get group Chinese tuition (syllabus-based) or continue with his Chinese enrichment classes next year? We dun haf that much time to send him for both.

BTW, anyone used Hua Cheng at Thomson Plaza? Any comments?

                Dear all,

I am in midst of finding a good language centre for my 3 and half yo son. we are malay family by the way. currently he is expose to some chinese in his cc but only for abt 45mins a day. i wanted to expose him more to prepare him for p1 as the school we intend to put him in only have chinese as 2nd language. i understand if we put him now, it will be better as he can adapt and learn faster.

the nearest to me is tien hsia at jurong pt. and next is berries which is at bukit batok cc (near in law place). please advise. any feedbacks is greatly appreciated.

                  Hi ADave,

Both centres have their strong and weak points. I suggest you bring your boy for a trial and see which he likes best. Teachers are important too. To learn the lauguage faster, you have to read with him regularly.

maybe twice a week enrichment class?

later on, you may need to engage a tutor for him since you don’t speak nor use the language.

yes thats my plan. for now i headstart him with the language to see how he can cope. come k1 to p1 onwards, i may need a tutor for him to assist him. my hubby’s cuzzins all started their chinese language without prior background to it in p1. but i guess its much easier last time? for myself i picked up from watching too much channel 8 when im younger…hahaha

twice a week is good but apparently the 2 centres that i mentioned, only once a week
