I would like to share what we did over the long weekend Good Friday break.


We drove up to Kota Tinggi with some of our friends and had a wonderful time there.

It's easily accessible and not that far a drive.

Wah...you did the firefly cruise as well. The ostrich farm in Kota Tinggi? The last I went was in Sg Rengit. Might be a different one. Wah, you also saw a strawberry farm?

nope. thats the one. its a bit small. the ostrich farm at port dickson is much better. can ride even.
no strawberry farm lah... hahah

my girl saw those growing from a plant at the resort we were staying. hehe

Wah, we have one thing in common....like to run north :P. Is that a HTC cruise that I am seeing? The lodging at Colmar Tropicale looked very expensive when I was there. Ended up walk walk and then \"come down the mountain\".

You guys really know how to find good food...all those yummy food photos making me hungry.

Where to for the next trip? ...I myself kind of exhausted places that I can run to for a simple 2 day trip over weekends.

we did port dickson too before.. not too bad.. and the ostrich farm there was a lot bigger and kids got a longer ride on it.

otherwise, its kl.. but i dont like the jams.

truly amazing. next time, before i hit msia, will definitely consult you first.

yeah, thats a htc cruise you see. it's my hub's. reliable little fellow.

bukit tinggi.. we got a 2 bedroom suite at sgd 180 i think. not too bad lah.. free breakfast (usual buffet fare). we gathered that there wasnt much to do so only spent 1 night there before we headed out to malacca.

Yeah, I don't really like Jams either. But there are quite a number of water parks around KL (for the kids to have a splashing time).


West of Malaysia, you got more commercial, touristy style holiday. East of Malaysia, you get more rustic, traditional malay villiage and beach resort type holiday.

Middle of Malaysia, you get all the Gunungs (Mountains) and Nature reserves.

If you have the time, try the East-West Highway (Gerik-Jeli). It was one of the best driving experience that I ever had.

The water on the east side of Malaysia are very beautiful at some places. I would like to do Redang....but it is quite far away. Not possible for weekend getaway.

my kakis were saying their kids want to do water next so suggesting sunway but i feel sunway is a little too commercialised. but then again, these are sporeans, hahaha and they might not take very well to another rustic \"no kettle, no tv\" in the bedroom / resort they are in again. haha

the kota tinggi, we already stayed rustic.. so maybe this time round, do a bit of shopping and live a little more comfortably. haha. but i will look through your blog.. i saw a water theme park that you went which you said is somewhat comparable to sunway.. i will ask them.

Hi Krazy,

Can you pls share about the hotel room at Colmar Tropicale. We've been there before like 3 yrs back (never stay there). Was just checking and the room rates seem pretty reasonable. S$200 for 3 bedroom. How is it like? We will be a situation of 3 adults and 3 kids (including our maid).

We are confirmed doing a 2 nites genting so we are trying to decide if we should do a melaka/ colmar tropicale the day/ nite before genting.

One more question. We used to drive up to genting and other places quite a fair bit. Have not done so in the last 2 yrs… With the recent news on those situation in Msia (eg. attacks,etc…) I am really alittle concerned and was initially alittle apprehensive abt driving up to Msia.


Any good tips on safety for human and cars.
* Important contact numbers eg. does AA works in Msia,etc… or police,etc…
* Stretch to look out (TP, etc…)
