I heard the same thing for Nan Qiao last year. Nan Qiao admitted that they use this to allocate the pupils to the classes. Has anyone heard any backlash from parents on this? This "streaming" seems so inappropriate and starts even before P1 when there isnt a level playing field yet.

Chongfu's orientation are normally done in Sep. It was the same for my son 2 years ago. My younger son will also be going this Sep for the orientation.


The screening test was a \"move\" that was started last year. It's likely used for class allocation.

So early??? I though normally parents will purchase text books, uniforms and school bus arrangment on the orientation day. :?

screening test for Chinese only bah? as NanQiao also a Huey Kuan school...


if also screen Math and Eng, i.e., their practice is to allocate kids into class according to abilility, then they will have to do so every year from P1?

Cannot move closer to the school liao......will be getting my key in Sept. I chose Chongfu becos there are not a lot of fantastic schools in Sembawang area (no offence to anyone, please) and this is the nearest to us (in a way).

Once i settle my house, i will be applying for PV. I want to be KS even though my DD is just 3.

Hi if u want to be PV of CF i think U all should call the school when r they taking in cause last yr they closed their PV applicians at sep (for child born 2005) it earlier than others school

Thanks for the info, but we are in the process of joining SHHK as well. Hopefully can get a recommendation from SHHK to enter him in Phase 2B.

Just found out from ChongFu that the screening test will be 2.5hr for english and math, with small break in between. I can’t believe that! my son haven’t even ‘learn’ anything from the school yet and they want to let him sit for 2.5hr test!
