That's what i did to my helper too when she dun want to work. I told her I'll send her back to where she came from. Anyway budget airtickets are not costly nowadays. She was hoping for a transfer which I felt was chosing employers. Now they really like to pick & choose who they want to work for rather than the other way.cher_06:
Now I am thinking if I should inform her beforehand that I am sending her back once i get my new maid. I am definitely not allowing her to transfer as I feel she is doing a disservice to whoever that employs her.
Yes. I have chosen a new one. Once the new one is here, I will tell her. hope my new one is good. -

I really admire yr patience, I know the stress u hv been going tru training and showing yr maid what to do, hope this maid will work out well for u.Hi desertwind, moonee,
Thanks for asking...my new Myanmar maid is fresh, never work abroad before, so she has a rather steep learning curve. The first 2 weeks was really tough cos her english also not so good and I have to literally teach and guide her to do normal chores like ironing and cooking etc. She's now in her 3rd week ( same as yours, moonee!), just hope and pray this maid will turn out well with us.
Desertwind, all the best in your new maid too. And hope your parent or whoever is not well will recover soon. :hugs:
Moonee, let's encourage each other and hope our new maids will turn out fine! :celebrate:
Mine has worked for 4 mths looking after a 2 yr old b4 I took her, surprisingly she does not know much about housework but at least we can communicate better cos she speaks broken english unlike the last one I had that would reply in mynmar. Shes younger ,only 21 and quite simple and obliging. My mum nearly lost her patience many times cos of her lack of initiative n common sense. Someimes i feel like switching back to Indons/filipinas but when I reflect on the past problems i had with the indons/filipinas, I would rather keep my current mynmar n hope that she can be groomed to be a good maid in time to come.

Maid agencies are actually making employers go against the law. The new thing is that the Filipino government is going to take tougher steps so no one can cheat them. -

this was because even the maid themselves know that if they ask for higer wages, they wouldn't get employed. so even they themselves are ok with lower wages.... anyway, does this apply to new maids or existing maid as well??

Hi Taurus,
My current maids biodata states metric which is equivalen to abt 10 yrs of study. My previous maid says she has 10 yrs study and did not complete her University. (dont think she made it to university) cant speak english at all. Anyway dnt look too much or believe their age and qualifications cos the agent there wrote it for them. In Mynmar, if there is a protest, the university can close for a few months to two yrs besides their education level is extemely low.
I m living with my mum now so my maid is with us. Her previous employer is working so they let her do the housework in the nite and send her n their 2 yr old son to the grannys home every day and fetch her back in the nite. There is a Indon maid at the grannys home so she just help out but concentrate more on the boy.
Have u taken a mynmar yet? basically they are quite obedient n would do anything without complaining i.e. if they understand yr instructions. Somehow the mynmars remind me of the indons when they first started coming to spore, BlUR!
