Continue to stay cheerful and before postive. I know of many people who did not get DSA offer in the past eventually did very very well in their PSLE and get into their dream school still. And getting into Phase 2 also does not warrant will get a CO. May end up wasting the precious time to revise PSLE more.

Yes yes. I will be preparing for my PSLE and helping my friend brush up her interview/oral skills! I made a deal with her- She teach me Maths, I teach her English. She got through Phase 1.

.. it seem likes most girls got rejected and most boys got into phase 2. Someone we know whose son is playful and usually ignore homework. Got scolded by teacher and has not been doing well from P4 till P6, tried NJC DSA, also got into phase 2. DSA will be of good help to pp like this to get into an IP programme, and what's more only need to pay govt subsided rate.

Just to clarify for the commotion yesterday. HCI called me this morning as I wrote an email regarding the DSA result out on end July to the school. They told me that they have mistaken that I am enquiring for the DSA for JC. The sec 1 DSA result should be out on 20 Aug but they have now decided to post the email one day earlier which is this coming Thursday.

why do they want to do that? 20 Aug is better as by then the PSLE oral will be over...

Good to know the outcome early. Those who get the good news would obviously be in good mood. Those who don't get any offer would be even more motivated to do well in PSLE Oral so they can still enter their dream school with PSLE results.

Good luck to your daughter on her DSA, laifeeling. It's quite tough to get into SCGS through dance. I know of a couple of very very good dancers who weren't accepted into SCGS but got into SOTA.

Chances are quite good because many of the GEP students are offered places in both RI and HCI, so quite a few places will be released.

when the students got to school they kept talking and thinking about it and some even became too nervous during oral .

Thanks AppleCrumble, MdmKS and jtoh. I'm glad to hear that chances are high for him. Now is the time to concentrate on PSLE. I heard that if T-score is high, will get CO on PSLE release date.

Guess there is no right or wrong time to release the news. Different kids will react differently just like adults. This is good opportunity for parents to coach our kids how to face such situation with positive attitude.

I also wished HCI releases the DSA results on 20 Aug or earlier this week, and not 1 day before psle oral or in the midst of oral. For applicants who do not receive a CO, the pressure to perform on 19 & 20 Oral will become tremendous knowing that they didn’t clinch the CO so must perform very hard for psle, then what if they get too nervous under such pressure, given the short recovery time for them to accept the sad fact?

If HCI had released earlier this week, at least then the unsuccessful applicants would have a couple of days to get over the sad news and would hopefully by then calmed down in time for their psle Oral.

I guess by now the school must have all the co candidates so no point holding till Friday. (Since some school already released the results)
