i called the school, optimistic that there will be more than 1 orientation date but unfortunately there will only be 1 and that is Nov 22.

There will be a talk by the prinicpal and head of departments.
Our kids will be ushered to the classrooms and school compound by P1 teachers (not nec form teachers).
Classrooms will be at random, doesn't mean that will be their classroom next year.

There are numerous forms to fill, and the uniform & textbook suppliers will be present.
NO school bus operators though ... parents have to contact the bus drivers on our own accord.

Orientation will start from 830am to ard lunch time.

Thanks Cody! You are so well informed! DS is so excited about going to Primary school. when we were in Italy for our holiday he bought his school bag, water bottle and pencil case from the Ferrari shop and has been pestering me to take him to the school. Sigh! dont know how long this enthusiasm will last once lessons start kicking in. Am also worried for him as i dont know whether he would be able to adjust to such big classes as in his present pre-school his class size never exceeded 18.

no no! i was told by the staff that the school is undertaking some reno next year, and EVENTUALLY the school will be a single session where P1 and P2 will be together with the P3-6.

Alamak, my son's foot is not even in the school yet and i've created a confusion .... it was just a casual chat with the staff member during registration. There's no mention abt P2 (partial or not) going to morning session in 2011 whatsoever.

Hi Cody,

No worries! I know that this is the direction HPPS is moving towards - to be a single session school. Actually its better too, then maybe school can then set up a after school care of something. Now there are not enough space in school for this kind of service.

that makes the 3 of us! i registered my son under phase 2A1, so thankful that our ordeal is over.

Orientation is Nov 22 - is that what you were informed too?
I have a problem ... because that date clashes with my vacation and the school doesn't seem to have any other orientation dates!

Just got the letter(printed form) from HPPS stating that DS got in and that orientation is on 22 Nov at 8.30 am. Just have to hope his drums exams are not on that day!

im frm hpps tis seems unlikely as p3-p6 alrdy very crowded in am session..
