It appears to me that RI and HCI made more COs to mainstreamers compared to RGS and NYGH. Do you have the same impression?

Not sure, my ds class has at least 4 girls who received CO from RGS so far. Not a small number?

Oh! thanks for the clarification, a bit confuse..
The following line is copied from the CO Letter : \" However, you must still be eligible to attend the Express Stream course based on your PSLE results\"

During our lunch with the principal sometime ago, we asked what is the eligibility of the Express Stream : the answer is 200

If it is to be based on the individual IP school's COP, then then DSA is meaningless

which bit are you still confused ?

if the kid gets less than 200 in the t-score, his CO will be forfeited, even if the school's COP is say, 201

if the kid gets 200, or any number above 200, the CO is safe, even if the school's COP for the year is 300
Mainstream class? That's not a small number. Do you mind my asking which school this is?

My girl is also not successful in the SCGS DSA exercise. Wonder how many girls does the school take in thru this yearโ€™s DSA?

on a normal circumstances, day to day performance is a good gauge on potential t-score. push that extra bit will yield some extra points.....but there are some who can shoot up by up to 50 points from prelim to actual psle. there are the inherently smart kid who wakes up after the prelim

the extreme example i quoted is meant to illustrate what is meant by confirmed offer versus the COP of the school versus the qualifying t-score of express stream (these days no more special stream)

there are some parents who insist that despite having the DSA confirmed offer, the kid must still meet the school's COP : this is incorrect and will render the DSA meaningless

When did your girl receive the mail or email from SCGS? she is base on performing arts, sports or academic? we still have not receive any news so far......My undertstanding during the DSA talk Session, the schools are allowed to admit students up to only about 50 place of their Secondary One intake and they have more then 30+ CCA. so you can see that the chances of getting in is so slim.... ๐Ÿ˜ž

I think most students who get in via DSA GEP and academics will not be too far off from the COP. In cases where the PSLE aggregate falls far below the COP, these are more likely the ones who got in via DSA Sports. In such cases, the parents and children should have a fair idea of how well their kid is likely to perform at PSLE, whether he's likely to score 220+, 230+, 240+ etc. If the COP for a school is 260 and my child is likely to score 240 or below in PSLE, I would not let my child go that school. What's the point of going there to suffer because the pace is too fast for you, if you're always at the bottom of the class, you feel lousy about yourself... And on top of this you have to continue to excel at your Sports. Too much stress.
