At End of Phase 2C Supplementary

School / Vacancy / Number Registered
Bukit Timah Primary School 75 70

      :congrats:
BTPS is a good school, just overshadowed by all the popular schools around it. Congrats to all that went in 😄 .

The journey has begun, all the best!

I like BTPS surroundings nestled in the middle of a landed estate. I was not successful in Phase 2C for a SAP school in the East. Knowing that the other ‘better’ neighbourhood schools will most likely go into a ballot for Phase 2C Supp, I chose BTPS because of the good review online and offline (through my colleagues).

Yesterday, it was one of the nerve wrecking experience for me. As my home was more than 2km from BTPS, any balloting could spoil my chances of getting in the school (and my nerves as well). I was one of the first to register at 8am. When I left at 8.20am, there were 15 parents (for 75 vacancies). At 3.45pm when I called the school it left only 10 vacancies. I thought to myself, this is going to be close… At 4.45pm after the registration ended, I called again and was greeted with "No Ballot". This is truly one of the highlights of my year!!

Looking forward to see my daughter in BTPS next year!

:congrats: I can understand your anxiety. This happened to me in 2005 when I registered my DS in BTPS during 2C supp. In the end, we stayed there till the registration closed - there were exact no of applicants for the vacancies. No balloting required - Phew!

Congrats in getting a place successfully in BTPS :celebrate: . The stress of balloting takes a toil on parents every year.

heard from the grapevine that the mediacorp’s artist’s son did not get into NYPS under p2b.

if she is using Jelita address, then it is more than 1 km away

also heard from grapevine another artist is buying a unit within 1 km of nyps

All the six schools in Bukit Timah are great, including BTPS. I believe you did your homework very well and your dd will love the school and she will excel in her study. I was an ex-student there but that was in the early 70s. One of my classmate was a President Scholar and a few of them were scholars too. So don't worry, BTPS produce good students academically too.

I did consider to send my dd there as BTPS is just a stone throw from my place but later decided to put her in Pei Hwa for its SAP environment.

Wish that your dd will have an enjoyable stay in BTPS.
