my son kept missing the RI activities … one of his friends kept invited, submitted for DSA, sat for selection test - still no news. another of the class mate, average marks lower, got CO from RI, but did not get HCI’s CO … funny world
My neighbour’s dd got CO from RGS but the mother just could not believe that she was not even offered an interview from NYGS. The dd was invited to RGS tea session before DSA application.
Actually, I know of RI/RGS students who had applied for DSA (JC) to ACS I (IB) or HCJC for JC next year, with some who had already accepted the offers. There are still some movement among the JCs though in small numbers.

        Hi d1s2,

any idea why the RI/RGS students decided to switch to ACS I (IB) or HCJC for JC ?

        thanks

        flametree
I am not exactly sure but my daughter said one of her friends wanted a change of environment and another felt that the Humanities Program could be better.

She is a GEP student? If not, could it be her GAT test not doing well at NYGH?

When my daughter went through NYGS DSA process 4yrs ago, I was told by the school that many were not called for interviews. If they can decided based on your school results, tests and/or talents (achievements), an interview may not be necessary.

Sorry, I am not quite sure about this GAT or DSA thingy so did not ask. My kid is in P5 so still a lot of thing to learn from all of you. Perhaps the selection criteria is different?

Wow! And it's a mainstream class, right? That's impressive. So despite what people say, DSA is not just for GEP students only. I'm especially impressed because in some schools, only a handful of students out of the entire cohort get CO. And in your class, almost all got COs.

I was quite stunned too! But VERY happy for the kids and for their parents, proud of their teachers too...they have been together for the last 3 years and some of them will be together again next year .......

was especially impressed by the class banding done at P4 - their scores are very close to one another throughout the 3 years....the teachers have been very accurate

in this school, last year's stats was one third of the cohort got DSA offers
