I'd say this is perfect cause for a formal complaint to high authorities. I can understand teachers having human feelings, but no teacher has the right to teach wrong and insist on it.

I wonder whether the authorities will just think that this is a minor mistake that can be accepted. Even there's a time she mark the test paper wrong(actually is correct) on a math question. I did write to her in a note explaining to her that the method use n answer is correct n I'm not asking for extra mark. Nothing came back. I only can do is tell my boy to stick to this method as this kind of question may appear in psle. It seem that I'm the only parent who have make many noise, no other did.

        Hi Francis

Has your child submitted any classwork on this. Look at your child's work and see if the teacher is marking her work as right or wrong. If she marks your child's work as wrong although it is using the right formula, use that as an eg to talk to the teacher.

It's presumptious to approach the teacher/principal without any evidence and the teacher might just deny her mistakes.
I'm waiting for the assessment to be return.

EN provides an excellent suggestion. It is difficult to broach the point to either the teacher or higher authorities based on what you hear from your child or his friends. You need circumstantial evidence to base your case on.

Chief, u r right. I'm waiting for the assessment to be return (waiting patiently) as I do not want to mess up thing.

Yes, it is time to meet this teacher and told her off in a nice way. Feedback is impt for teachers & also it is poosible to write to the principal to raise awareness in such area.

Hi Mummyjoyce, MOE is trying to promote close relation between school/teacher n parents for feedback n improvement. But, they think likewise.

She yell at this poor girl not to put in the 1/2. just base x height.

My hunch is it is a misunderstanding.

Unless the teacher is mentally unsound (kee siow liao), else how can she didn't know the formula of an area of a triangle...

Unreasonable teachers still can swallow...kee siow ones dan cannot play play...

I'm testing my patient,If, I 'kee siow' the principle office will shake. Ha........
