Is your son in GEP or mainstream?

I believe ACSI introduced this clause this year only. Basically they're telling the students that if they don't list ACSI as their first choice in the form, they're not getting a place. I don't believe any other school has this clause.

Has ACSI given out the CO letter already? Or are they giving it out only during the tea session once you confirm that you will put ACSI as first choice?

My child's in mainstream. Actually, the clause ''as his top preference\" is from RI. I understand from some that ACSI wld only give you the confirm letter if you agree to place them as first choice. Sounds really odd. No letter yet, just tea session in Sept.

I've heard the same thing about ACSI. And some have decided to forego the so-called CO at ACSI because they're unhappy with being arm twisted. Also helps that they already have COs at RI.

With regards to RI's letter, I suppose whichever school you put as first choice, provided you have a CO, you will definitely get into that school. It's only when you put a WL school as first choice and RI as 2nd choice that you wonder if the clause will actually come into play. Because really, once they've given you a CO, the MOE computers take over and RI can't do anything about it. It's different in ACSI's case because they're NOT giving out a CO until you confirm your intention to put them as 1st choice.
Thanks jtoh πŸ˜„

CO's from RI. Now wondering if I should attend the tea session and risk being placed in an awkward position or have an arm twisted off :!:

So I guess different schools state different terms. If both schools state 'as his top preference/first choice', could I still fill up the DSA option form according to my preference? 😐

according to your preference, and you should get it according to your preference. at the end of it, you could attend only one school...

        verykiasu2010:
Based on the stack of papers issued by MOE via the primary school on the DSA process.....there is no duress on which school to choose

A confirmed offer is a confirmed offer and students should just choose accordingly, based on their preference

Technically speaking, every one would get their first choice - unless the waitlisted school is put in as first choice - in case nobody gives up, i.e. all CO got accepted .... unlikely, though possible
Thank u very much verykiasu2010 πŸ˜„ You've made everything very clear :celebrate:

Congrats to your child and all the best for PSLE :rahrah:

okay, but that is a separate matter from school preference based on DSA confirmed offer. Sec school only notify the pri school who have been given CO, but not told and won't know who has accepted those CO
Anyway it's the same every year. You certainly can put a waitlist offer school as 1st choice - it depends on which you prefer and how you weigh your chances. If you do not exercise your preference, it would be deemed that you have opted out of the DSA process and have rejected all your COs.

NUSH is NOT part of the MOE posting system, while ACSI is still part of the posting system

            true!

But they told in yesterda's session that we have to put in our preference in the Preference form Oct25-29 thru the primary school .

I think that are not part of MOE PSLE posting but for DSA its the same as others. Got to clarify.

NUSH Ksper , pls shed light :?:

            bit blur today

For the DSA School Preference Exercise, you can either indicate your preference directly via the internet, or through your primary school via a form. As the NUSH date of Oct 25-29 is the same as MOE's dates, I believe NUSH is taking part in the same exericse. In which case, you should be able to make your choice of school (NUS included) via MOE's website.
Like all schools participating in the DSA process, NUSH is included in the DSA school preference exercise. So to accept your CO or WL, you have to list NUSH as one of the schools in your preference (you can only indicate up to 3 schools). All students who have been given CO or WL will be informed by their primary school to make their preference. If you do not indicate a DSA school which has given you a CO or WL, you are deemed to have rejected the offer.

NUSH does not participate in the MOE PSLE posting exercise. After the PSLE results are out, students who are keen to enter NUSH with their PSLE results can apply directly thru the NUSH website. This means that students who do not been allocated a school thru DSA can apply to 6 schools in the PSLE posting exercise and also apply directly to NUSH thru their website.

Anyone has update on DSA tea sessions from the various schools? What did you hear from these sessions and do you think they were useful in helping you making your decision?

tea sessions are all sales talks by the schools

Anyone know how long is the wait list for RI?

HCI waitlist 1 is 80 (HCI said 100% accepted provided HCI is selected as 1st choice), HCI waitlist 2 is 62.

Did anyone from mainstream receive CO from ACS(I) yet? My friends say they didn't hear anything from the school? :?
