Abitworried:

agree with Guthix whole heartedly. As far as boys are concerned, at least 90% will choose RI as 1st choice. Usually for this majority, HCI is a 2nd just-in-case choice.

Last year, the GEP boys from son's school only have 1 school at sight and that is RI. The top 10 boys did not even apply any other DSA, only RI solely - being very confident of their own abilities.
It is usually the parents who would choose HCI over RI for various reasons. There are exceptions of cos.

Is such statistics of preference just your observation from your son's school or reality across P6 cohort? From Guthix's post in another thread, his DS class has a \"stalemate\" between RI, HCI and NUSH?

My son told me- last year, the P6 boys in his school, half of them had chosen RI, half had chosen HCI, only a couple of them had chosen another school (I think he said DHS). I happened to know 1 of the P6 boy's parent. And the father convinced the son to choose HCI instead of RI, who got CO from both schools).

Yes! finally received
By the way, what means by .... course offered in our school based on your PSLE results _(the Express course).

According to the MOE web-site for DSA (Sec), RGS only offers Express Course, no Normal Academic nor Normal Technical course. Hence, to be in RGS, your PSLE t-score must be at Express Course level, i.e. above 200 (according to past years' records). πŸ˜‰
Thank you for your explanation! 😎

Did anyone from mainstream receive CO from ACS(I) yet? My friends say they didn't hear anything from the school? :?

Wait has ended!
Got a call from ACS(I) that my DS has been 'shortlisted' and to meet the Principal at 9am on Saturday πŸ˜„
No email or postal mail, yet.

My son fr Mainstream also got call fr ACS(I) on Thursday and has to attend talk at 9am on Sat. where they will then give the letter of offer for DSA.
So now my son has got all offers from the 3 schools that he went for DSA-RI, HCI & ACS(I) So, not true that mainstream students don't usually get DSA. (Plus my son only fr neighbourhood school)
Hopefully this will be an encouragement to students in mainstream for future DSA, that schools do not just favour GEP students. It really boils down to your performance at the selection tests.

NYGH didn't have waitlists in previous years. However, so long as no news, there's still a chance for good news right? Good luck!

Oh i see, my dd is from mainstream , SA1 85% above plus head prefect and CCA captain , wonder stand a good chance or not? , left one week to 30/8 . just worried if GAT don't clear , all hopes gone.

Your dd's resume is very impressive. I do know that NYGH places a lot of importance on GAT though. Hopefully she gets through. If not, there's always PSLE. Good luck.
Just checked NYGH website and results out, dd did not get thru DSA, just got to work hard for psle then 😒

A big Congrat !

So what is your domain for RI DSA ? Which are CO and any WL? What are your choice of preference then ?
