          Hi Lock,

Think the gals may not know each other, my was in P1JOY, P2Faith. Her result not so good. But they may take the same sch bus (if your gal takes the sch bus). The bus driver is uncle nathan.

            Hi,

I am Pradeep, I have enrolled my daughter for P1, 2011. I stay at woodlands st 13. I would like to know if CHIJ bus offers shuttle service from this area. Would like to hear from parents in the nearby neighborhood.

            Thank you,

            Best regards,
            Pradeep

Hi mommies, can I ask for some advice? From reading all your entries, all your kids seem to enjoy the school very much. I am registering my gal next year and was considering between MGS and this school. I live within 1-2km of MGS but out of 2km for OLQP and I did not volunteer for it.

I am not looking for a top school but rather one which is near to home as well as one having fun, interesting CCA. Any moms care to share their opinions would be greatly appreciated.

CHIJOLQP is affiliated to St Theresa’s Conventand it’s in Telok Blangah/Bt Purmei area. MGS will be a better choice as its affiliated sec sch has a stronger academic performance than STC.

As the school’s population is small, they don’t have many interesting CCA and choices. Their strength is in the Fusion Dance, Choir and Netball. Tap Dance and Robotics are very well-received.

Personally, I feel OLQP has a holistic education (they do not focus too much on academic, which probably results in the school not churning out top PSLE scorers :)) Since, the school does not \"stress out\" the kids academically, naturally the students have fun and are happy.

However, since MGS is nearer to your home, it makes more sense to enrol your child in MGS. MGS is among the top performing sch, so naturally I would expect the girls to be pushed further academically but whether that will translate into high stress level really depends on the parents. If the parents expect their children to vie for the top classes and excel in every exams and tests, naturally the kids will be stressed and will not have fun in school

Every school has its fair share of fun and interesting activities. It depends on what your girl's interest is. In OLQP, their niche is the performing and visual arts, softball, netball and I think the new table-tennis CCA is doing well too. What I particularly like about the school is their character building programme called the CLIMB programme and the fact that the girls are given ample opportunities to develop confidence though various non-academic activities like show and tell, assembly performance (dance, acting, singing) and in-house competitions (IJ got talent, book idol, art competition etc)

The affiliated Sec sch is St Theresa Sec. However, the IJ sisters have mentioned that they are more open to accept their own IJ girls thru DSA in other IJ schools like IJ(Toa Payoh) etc...which means, got higher chance ...haha
