 tjm, I think you have a very detailed description of the PAL programme in CPS...Haha, frankly speaking I did not enquire much with my gal what she did during the PAL programme every Tuesday 😉 . So sorry, I am such a \"lousy\" mother that has not get much involved in my child's progress.

I apologised unable to comment much on the P2 programme :peekaboo:[/quote]

      Hi champion,
      You are great! 😄
i'm sure you girl did well too! :celebrate:

        hey champion,

don’t say that! you are a great mom for being involved and just by being on this forum means you care a lot for her.

anyway, i asked cos i wanted to see what is in store for my son in P2…
in case later it is dance or something, he may dislike it a lot. haha.

green apple, my son is a typical 7 yr old. he gets into fights with other boys in class and on the school bus. while his school work is still quite easy and he is doing well academically, i do get regular feedback from his tr about his "mischief" in class.

things like being restless and too talkative during lesson time… i often have to remind him after the tr sends email to me.

hopefully with each passing yr he’ll be more mature and sensible!

          Hi Hi tjm & greenapple,
          thanks for the compliments :politebleah:

tjm - I believe it is a natural growing up process esp for boys to be more active than girls. My girl also said that her classmates, boys are very naughty and mischievious 😉 but the whole class still gets along very well. Oh yes, my girl's class has been selected to perform for the Tecahers' Day Celebration coming Tuesday and she is very nervous about it 😓 Nevertheless, I told her that this is a good experience for her as she learns to co-ordinate with all her classmates in the dance and also to encourage each other when one forgets the steps or the turns.

Basically, I feel that the school curriculum is well-planned and the teachers are very dedicated in their teachings :salute: I will share with you all more if there are more updates.

          Cheers :dancing:

wow! tjm, he's so BRiGH!! :celebrate:

oh yes, Is there any test to classify the class for entering P1? or is it based on LUCK that one gets into a good class?and which class is your son in? 😛

Is the Chinese standard very high? My girl is those eat potato type. We don't speak Mandarin at home.

            Thanks. 😄

champion, will ask my son abt your girl’s class performance. so nice to be chosen to dance!

greenapple, no there were no tests to stream P1 classes. so all P1 classes are mixed ability. for Chinese or mother tongue classes, they are randomly grouped also.

i guess yes, it is by luck if you get a nice/ good form teacher or not. i wouldn’t know if my son is in a good class or not because they don’t have tests or exams.

My son isn’t that great in Chinese too but has improved a lot in his written and spoken ability since the start of this yr. I have not sent him for any tuition or academic enrichment so far, so definitely what he learnt is from his school tr.

                lkvm,

yes for the MA celebrations, can go there and buy on the spot. i intend to buy more coupons cos my sons might need more food and they will definitely want to play more games. 🙂

abt your son, yes, I believe most boys are like that right? haha. they are a lot of fun and can be so funny... but then their mischief can drive me up the wall sometimes. so i can sympathise with the tr and whenever she emails me, I try my best to remind my son.

after my reminder, he may be quite good for that week, then perhaps another 2 weeks later, the tr will send me another email.

                    Hi Parents,

I’m going to register my kids to CPS beginning of next year.
Do you think there are available spots for non Singaporeans/SPR?
                    Thanks.

So you intend to enrol your kid for P1 in 2011? I believe there should some more vacancies left; maybe you can call the General Office for info. Tel: 6795 7381.

                      Cheers :rahrah:
