anxiousmummy:
I am also very curious about GY. Can any parents with DS or DD in GY let us know their views about the school?
Have you read this link? Hope it helps.

Not all students who qualify GEP wants to go GEP.
Some even go but decide to return.
Most often non GEP schools lose these students to GEP schools.
But the GEP schools also have equality large amount of students themselves who get into GEP and stay on the same school.
And in turn, this GEP schools without IP program will lose these students to the IP schools.
But the morale of the story is schools should let their students get the best out of the education? -

Hello Juanthedragon,
Thanks for the info. I will register my child there under phase3.mzdin:
Anyways for those of us parents who didnt get into the schools of our choices in Bishan and GY is the next alternative. I did some research and came across this article on GY. Its really amazing how difficult it is to find feedback on this school.

Well hope it helps.
Don't be dishearten yet. My family doctor actually trf his son out in P3 from a neighbourhood sch to an elite sch. There are usually more vacancies given the fact that the max class size stretches from 30 to 40 when in P3.
You may wish to consider this option too. -

Hmm I thought GY has 120 vacancies left after 2CS. Looks like MOE not opening up all space for 3. So GY only has a total of 51 P1 students next year?Vacancy for Phase 3

Those who did not get into any school successfully after balloting in P2CS were asked to nominate three schools they would like MOE to place their children in, before MOE opened the registration for P3. So, I guess most of the places were taken up in this manner. -
Thanks QMS for the explanation. No wonder.

The birth rate for 2005 went up??is it a significant number?
To be honest, doubt the situation will ease -- since the birth rate has u-turned up in 2005!!eskimo:
thanks pgnet88 and tulip.
I really hope the situation in the 3 bishan schools will ease next year when my turn comes. Hopefully GYPS will become a draw factor by being spanking new! <cross>
In any case, all the best (in advance) for next year. :celebrate:
