7 New IP schools

Maybe you are more pragmatic than your child would be. You'd find that girls are more likely to stay with their affiliated schools than boys. Even the top scorers will go on to their affiliated sec sch(eg. SNGS) instead of RGS for example as compared to a boy in a similar school.(eg. CHS).
But academic consideration is the foremost, I'' think. Most likely the student concerned think that he/she can do better in the other school. -
When is the expected announcement?

Hopefully as soon as possible as DD2 will be taking PSLE 2011. Read http://talkback.stomp.com.sg/forums/showthread.php?t=109575 in another forum. It's interesting to find out whether http://www.scgs.edu.sg/ is one of the 7 new IP schools chosen. Which JC would be the partner or whether they remain in an all girls environment to continue year 5 and year 6 aka senior high/JC in the same school?
Thanks.

Will be interesting to see which schools will be added to the 11 IP schools. If this is effective immediately, there will be more choice schools for this year's PSLE cohort. Great news! :rahrah:

So what will happen to the current students in sec 1 or 2 and the secondary become ip school? Do these children need to take test again to qualify for IP or they will do IP automatically?

These schools will probably not be full IP schools; meaning they will offer both the O level and A level tracks. I suppose depending on how ready the schools are to implement the programme to existing students, the top students from the existing Sec 1 & 2 may have the opportunity to partake in IP dependent on their EYA results.
