I noticed 2 different designs of uniform, sleeveless top and white shirt. Why is this so? The school website also mention about MCS jacket, how does it look like? :?

      Hi all kiasu parents,

I'm new to kiasu parents. Look forward to sharing & exchanging tips with you all.

I'm a mother of 2 MCS gals. Chanced upon the MCS thread. Great to see so many enthusiatic mums & dads here.

Kerbaya, the P1-P2 wear the sleeveless pinafore (a dress) while the
P3-P6 wear a sleeveless bouse & skirt. Only prefects wear the white blouse with a tie. The MCS jacket is black with 2 stripes running along the lenght of the sleeves with a huge MSC school crest on the top left corner. The green windcheater is no longer available.

        hihi,

didn't login here for a while then got so many postings..thanks all for sharing all info here.

i think P1 is located on first floor then no need to carry school bags up/down if i am not wrong. i was told by the teacher there when i did PV to the school so i think either trolley or backpack is okey.

yes, teaching DD to use public phone is a good idea, she can just call in case if anything happens.
        Hi lvkt,
P1 classrooms are on the first storey, not too far from the main foyer of the school but the P1 girls have assembly in the hall on the 3rd floor thrice a week so they'll be expected to carry their bags up the stairs for assembly before reporting to their respective classes. For those who are planning on buying trolley bags, do make sure your DDs can carry their bags up & down the stairs without assistance. πŸ˜“

Tell u a real life story, on the day my fren went to reg for her gal at MCS, it was during their recess time. There were a group of girls still dilly dailying while the bell had rang. So one of the teachers started asking them which class they were from pretty sternly and told them to clean up the whole canteen as punishment.

Then my fren took this opportunity to \"educate\" her gal not to take her own sweet time in Primary Sch.. πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

Chum ah...!!! My DD is super \"more jie\" (at least that's what DH calls her). 😒 She can be so distracted that the act of juz putting on her shoes can take quite a while. Think I better prep her by cleaning our house first lor.... πŸ˜‰

Aiyahh... I think you are not alone. Mine is a typical dreamer who acts worse than a tortoise. Especially when eating is of concern. I wonder how she survive during recess time.[/quote]Not to worry too much about not having enough time to eat during recess. For the first 3 days of school, they'll have an extended recess of 1hr with their P5 buddies. Plenty of time to eat πŸ˜‰
The buddies will eat with ur DDs, teach them how to queue & buy food from the canteen and orientate them around the school grounds. This is the best time for ur DDs to ask their buddies to show them how to use the public phone.
Best part is, MOST of ur DDs' classmates will have P5 buddies from the same class too so they'll hang out together & encourage their P1 buddies to play with :hugs: one another. This will help ur DDs adapt & make friends easily.

              Hello Tinkerbelle,

Thanks for the detailed description on their uniforms.

Which level are your gals in? How do you find the sch so far?

Extended recess??? That means after the first 3 days, no need to eat liao :rotflmao: Dun think my DD will pick up the speed even aft 3 days.

But it's nice to know they are guided by the seniors πŸ˜„

OG 20% discount going on rite now! πŸ˜„

I went over the weekend and compared both SPI and Deuter.

Actually found one SPI bag which looks really small, light and sweet (in baby pink) but dun think it can hold many books. The rest of the other SPI bags looks really bulky on DD. We find the Deuter bags (s size) are pretty good so bought one liao. πŸ˜‰ The design is acceptable (limited colours: red, blue or orange) but we find the size is juz rite (though it still looks big on my small frame DD 😒 ) for the sch books and even A4 size book if needed.

Price is abt the same for the designs we like: SPI $109 and Deuter $119. After discount, the Deuter bag cost $95.
                  :thankyou: for sharing~~!! πŸ˜‰
