Which level are your gals in? How do you find the sch so far?

My elder DD is in P5 and my younger DD is in P1. Both my DDs love MCS. Environment is conducive to learning, except for no air con. MCS focuses not only on academics but also on social and spiritual (for catholics) well-being.

Both DDs have caring and encouraging teachers. Throughout my elder DD's 5 years there, I had no issues with the sch. Communication channels are open and any issues parents encountered can be resolved quickly via email or phone calls with the form teachers. Have no regrets sending my gals there.

My P1 DD was also very slow beginning of the yr but with time she has since picked up speed. She found out that if she doesn't eat fast enough, all her friends will not wait for her and will go and play first. That's the motivating factor she needed..keke.

Yes, currently, she takes 1-1.5hrs to finish her meals. :lol: I think snails eat faster than her.

Yes, my frens told me abt that too. The motivation for eating faster.. I hope it will work on my gal and not choose the easy way out, which is don't eat. :lol:

I also think they are too young for HP but dropping off at wrong point is scary.. my DD is a little timid and blur, might drop off where the transport drops them..

I oso worry that's why muz monitor if the sch bus is reliable or not.

P1 classrooms are on the first storey, not too far from the main foyer of the school but the P1 girls have assembly in the hall on the 3rd floor thrice a week so they'll be expected to carry their bags up the stairs for assembly before reporting to their respective classes. For those who are planning on buying trolley bags, do make sure your DDs can carry their bags up & down the stairs without assistance.

Juz told by my ex-coll that even if we register now, it's on wait list. sigh. Better look for back up plans. My ex-coll also put her gal in MCS and on wait list for the student care.

P1 don't really have a lot of books to carry but their bags can be quite heavy for them. There's a timetable so you just pack according to the timetable. On most days, there are 1 maths textbook, 1 maths workbook, 1 Mother tongue text, 1 Mother Tongue workbook, a few exercise books, a Helpmate (diary) and a document file. P1 don't have English textbooks. Only have a thick A5 English Casco Primary English workbook which can be heavy but they don't usually bring that home unless there's homework.

Actually, a lot of my P1 DD's classmates either use SPI bags or trolley bags. My DD didn't want a trolley bag cos it was too heavy for her to lift up and it kept knocking on her legs when she carried the bag up the stairs. Trolley bags are fine if your DD is able to carry the bag up and down the stairs with ease. Can practise during the Dec holidays :lol:

Sorry, don't have 1st hand experience with the student care beside the sch. Only heard from another MCS parent that it provides enrichment lessons for the kids before sch and ensures that they have their lunch before escorting the lower primary kids over to sch. She mentioned her DD is no longer a fussy eater
