CHIJ Family of Schools

I wonder why CHIJ family of schools aren’t standardized.

For eg CHIJ at Chestnut Drive is called CHIJ QLOP (sorry if I got it wrongly). Couldn’t the schools be standardized like CHIJ Kellock, CHIJ TP, CHIJ Bukit Timah etc ?

Can I check whether does the school have a COP for the students for entry to secondary though it is afflicated to the secondary schools? Kindly advise.

So, you are suggesting CHIJ OLQP (it should be OLQP, not QLOP) be changed to CHIJ Chestnut? :scratchhead:

CHIJ Kellock is now not located in Kellock Road either, although it used to be.

there are two options :

1. change the name of the school to that of the new location
2. change the road name at which the school is located

eg in Bishan, you have Raffles Inst Drive or something like that ? or like in Jurong West Extension, you get Nanyang Ave etc ?

aiya, both a wishful thinking unless the school is very famous, else the school stick to old name wherever it goes

another example ....all the Raffles (city, place, etc etc) are named because RI / RGS used to be there

There's CHIJ(Our Lady of Good Counsel), CHIJ (Our Lady of Nativity) n CHIJ (our Lady Queen of Peace) all three got their new names or name change after they got their new Sch buildings thru prime. Probably d other IJ schs may change name aft they go prime. or maybe there will not be any change cos the names like IJ (Toa Payoh) n IJ (kellock) r alr household names. Name change may cause confusion or bring down d reputation.

The CHIJ at Chestnut wasn't given this name. BTW, what is PRIME ?
IJ Kellock and TP are household names now.

PRIME is the acronym for MOE's program of rebuilding the whole school to give it all the latest facilities

Thanks for your reply. Yup, CHIJ at Chestnut was rebuilt at about the same time as Pei Hwa.
