Wah! Why do i get the feel that choosing a secondary school is EVEN MORE CONFUSING than primary school?!!!
At least primary school, you just need to think of Phase 2B, 2C and maybe 1km, 2km.
Secondary schools - Express, Normal (A), Normal (T), DSA, IP, IPOs!, Affiliation etc!!!

in RI / HCI / NYGH / RGS = every class is IP class.

i call them the IPO schools (sounds like stock market) IP & O level -

So DSA means you must have some 'special skills' or 'talent' or is it your folks must be super rich or well-known?

Hi Augmum,
thks jtoh.
yes, there shd be some guidelines of the COP for the IP class set by individual schools....
just that i am quoting forumer kiaaik who have posted an example....
what if the guideline for COP for \"A school\" and \"B school\" a difference of 10 points or so ......
then there'll bound to have some \"transferring of school issues\"
Yes, there will probably be people who aren't happy and will think of transferring. More headaches in store for the school admins and parents.
I guess parents will have to look at historical scores and make an educated guess from it. And also at the school culture etc. At the end of the day, I think school culture's more important. And if you just barely miss the COP for IP, just work harder in the existing school and get in at Year 3.

talent = national champions for sports, or at least in the national team
talent = CONSISTENTLY good academic results from P4 onwards, say all subjects in the high 90s usually of well known pri schools
talent = extremely good in specified area of arts and music, eg minimum ABRSM grade 7 at Pri 5 and passed Theory Grade 5, or recognised by (eg) UOB painter of the year type ....... -

you are right in a way ... BUT Cedar's standard is good especially if u consider their COP isnt very high... yet no one doing O levels can beat them in L1R5...in terms of consistency.... and Victoria has good name and tradition by VS / VJCreading today's ST report made me feel that Cedar is very lucky....VS brother (VJC) said VS must get a galfren...so VS went to woo Cedar...
Cedar accepted proposal, it is like kena Toto without even buying it..
another possible candidate for VS is TKGS, but i think that was earlier era during 60s-70s era when many TKGS gals went to VS pre U...but i guess most Victorian old boys current batches from 80s onwards would prefer to partner and galfren Cedar... VS was quite near Cedar in the previous site and the unofficial bro-sis school status between VS - Cedar had been quite long already. -

we shall see which IPO is overly subscibed and which is under subscibed
