7 New IP schools

if this is true, then for the current P6's who arent keen on VS/Cedar for Sec sch, the main IP route when they are in Sec 2 wd be to go to Temasek Academy of the TJC - especially if they live in the east. So TJC wd probably stand to benefit from the closing of doors of the VJC IP and become more competitive to enter.[/quote]if you are talking about 2011 sec 1 batch, they will be sec 3 in 2013, the same year when tjc stop their sec 3 ip intake and start their sec 1 ip intake
Seem like for 2013, they will only accept 50 boys n 50 gals from vs n cgs only. And after that, only Year 5 and 6 IP students.kiaaik:

9-3-2010
As announced by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Dr Ng Eng Heng, Minister for Education and Second Minister for Defence, Victoria Junior College is pleased to partner Victoria School and Cedar Girls' Secondary School from 2012 onwards in offering its Integrated Programme.
VJC will continue recruiting Secondary 2 students next year for the Class of 2012. Hence, current Secondary 1 students are not affected by the changes. Students who have been selected for admission into the VIP's Class of 2011 are also not affected by the changes. -

Cedar was a natural IP-candidate for Victoria 'cos almost like 3/4 of the girls go to VJC each year. And these IP ppl came to Cedar ytd and told them Cedar naughty girl, so must marry her to Victoria. :rotflmao:
So i wonder if the current Cedar girls now get 2 bonus pts to get into VJC after their O lvls?

VJC definitely need intake in 2012 for sec 3 VJC's IP because those 1st batch VS/Cedar IP students from 2012 can only study in VJC in 2016 (so maybe VJC last batch Sec 3 IP intake is 2013, so when they are JC 2 in 2016, those 2012 sec1 of VS/Cedar IP can come in as JC1 so 'nice nice' no gap/stoppage at all ) -
Wait ah wait ah if a ip dropout in hci wishes to apply for hci(jc), and does poorly for CCA, can he get 2 bonus affiliation points?

2012: VS and CGS start IP at Sec 1; VJC continue Sec 3 IP
2013: VS and CGS 2012 IP in Sec 2, 2011 50 each IP in Sec 3; VJC stop Sec 3 IP (likely scenario, else duplication) -

TJ will start their Sec 1 IP intake in 2013, but think they are silent if they will stop their Sec 3 intake. If I am not wrong, when NJC extended their intake to Sec 1, they still continued to take in Sec 3 for two yrs. If TJ do stop their Sec 3 intake in 2013, then the current P6's who intend to an IP out at sec 2 will be left out in the cold !

If a student goes either TA or VIP in sec 3 and in his third year of ip, which is jc1, would like to change to another IP school for instance RIJC or HCJC, isit possible?

i also found MOE link which confirms that
http://www.moe.gov.sg/media/press/files/2010/09/secondary-schools-pathways-annex-b.pdf
from above link's * information lead to another Qn:
whether those 50 each is selected at SEC 1 (when 1st enter VS/Cedar) or at Sec 3 level and whether they go VJC or stay in VS/Cedar... i think this batch would be continue VJC's sec3 IP (as e last batch)... so go VJC at Sec 3.....correct me if anyone have alternative opinion

my guess is that the selection of 50 is based on sec 1 or sec 2 results and not at psle.

and u have a very good qn...whether the 50 each from vs and cgs will do their IP at vs or vjc...very hard to say...i would tend to agree with u that they will do it at vjc ip since vs has not started their ip offically for sec 3 -
strong opinions:

i guess anything is possible provided that rijc or hcjc is willing to accept him
