My child is coming to 3 soon and thought of sending him to enrich his english reading and comprehension ability. It seems that I can Read system seems to be quite alright for him to start...parents need to be around?

No need ... even the 1st lesson, they dun wan parent to be in also ... coz kid will tend to \"depend\" on parents when parents r around.
Anyway u can book an assessment with the nearby ctr to check which level ur kid is belong to ..
I think 3 will be under TCS. Hope this will help u ... 😄

          Hi Hi,

Any parents whose kids went through Little Learners?
From what I see during the "orientation", its like what childcare center teaches- coloring, nursery rhymes etc
My gal is already in a Child care, dunno if i should put her to LL if the things being taught is similar.

          Please advise.
          Thanks.

Hi, my gal is in ICR now. She is 6 yrs old now. She gone thru TCS, PRP and now she is in ICR prog. I think she is okay wif her comprehension but on reading still not very gd .. I dunno abt other children, but for my gal, she will stop when she see some \"unknown\" word. Then she will look at me for help. I hv been trying to get her use \"phonics\" to break the word, but she just refuse to do that. Anyone can advise me how to improve her reading skill? I dunno she has no confident or she cant do it?

              Hi Kellytai,

Did your gal use the screener provided?

Each time my DD can't read a big word, I will use my finger to act as the screener. She will try to do blending and most of the time got it right.

                Hi there,

I’m thinking to send my 2.5yrs old boy to I can Read, Little Bears Club which is meant for 2.5 - 3.5yrs old. Does anyone send your kid to the Little Bears Club? Could you kindly comment?

                  Hi,

Any comments for ICR at West Coast Plaza? How abt the teachers?
I need to find out more as my girl doesn’t seem to like reading.

My girl currently at Julia Gabriel reader and writers but doesn’t seem to improve much so I might wanna try ICR but need more feedback on the
                  West Coast Plaza Centre.

                  Thank you

                    Hi

Can I have feedback for British Council Creative English for Kindergarten 1? Is this course good? Want to look for more feedback before signing my son for it as it is quite expensive. Need to know if it is worth the money.

I just wrote to BC yesterday to enquire about the course. Was shocked to hear from them that they conduct the courses with a maximum of 18 students per class!

At about $66 per lesson, I personally think the 18 students to per class is too big.

My older kids are with BC primary level. I didn't put my K1 there this year. She is doing phonics and Lorna Whiston creative english. I found BC K1 level abit elementary.

For K1 and if your child hasn't started any EL program, you might want to consider LCentral. I am letting my P2 and P3 try for a term. If good, I might consider switching my K1 there when she is K2 and completes her phonics.

Think cheaper and class size is max 9. Native speakers too. But need to try out if effective or not. I feel that there is no one size fit all program. Probably got to trial and error to find the one that suits best. We gave BC 2 years for my P2 and P3.... 😢 I sent my P3 to LCentral for assessment yesterday and the teacher told me that usually within 1-2 terms can see results.
