Between the 2, I will choose a Merc.

But if can have other choices, I will look at BMW or the Passat Coupe.

And for cabrio, I prefer hard top less noisy. But cabrio not very practical, will end up with the top up most of the time since difficult to drive when hair is being whipped around.

I only have a rolex watch which I've bought during my working days but

DH is just trying to fulfil my dream of owning a \"sport car\" within his means. So, me DW cannot be too much, must help him to save lah! šŸ˜‰

I'm not taking a loan to get a 2nd hand car. Just a gift from my DH to commemorate our 12th anniversary. But having said that, I'm looking for a car that is most value for money- without burning his pocket ( u know the typical \"auntie\" mentality) šŸ˜‰
I hope you are not taking a loan to buy a luxury car?
IMHO, the merc will be better since resale I'd better and higher status symbol. U giving this car to your wifey? Or are you a lady?
My dream car is the Porsche cayenne...........
Athough I think I won't know how to park it.
However if I am living in a place where there is large land, I want the hummer SUV.........

          :!: so envy.
I will get a cheaper car but buy a highend watch instead. But looking at the gifts that you DH is buying for you; you should have loads of highend watches already :hugs:

wah so nice! I also have this dream. but i think it will remain a dream. 😐

not auntie mentality... save, so that you can have liquidity to buy other stuff! women always prefer variety... heh.

don't know yet. The kids prefer the convertible one but I prefer the reliable one, so DH also :? Anyway need to look around.. Ultimately price is still the main factor. Which ever he chooses, is fine for me cos he is the one paying ... šŸ’‹

Go for the Merc... For reliability and in case need to off load after the fad (of owning a sports car) wears off... U shd be able to fetch a better resale value.

To me Peugeot and Renault in the same brand category... A friend of mine bought a Renault convertible for abt $120k, hardly used cos spare car, less than a year and selling off now... At best can fetch abt $82-85K :!: ... Almost $40K depreciation.

Tried driving a Mustang convertible during a vacation to the wine regions of California some time ago. An awful experience, honestly, so top stayed on......:(

It is hot in Singapore and too many traffic lights (too many prying eyes). I drive a convertible (sadly bought with my own money) and seldom open the top. My next buy would be a coupe (or maybe a MPV with the increasing barang barang I have šŸ˜› ).

So buy the Merc coupe coz it's more practical and has better resale value. I would prefer the Merc CLK though. It comes in coupe and convertible but think only sold 2nd hand now? Sat in my friend's CLK coupe and it was not bad and Stef Sun used to drive one. The CLC (think the one you are thinking of) has an ugly behind actually but if you want brand new, CLC is for you.

SLK is too small for you and kids. Quite impractical.

                        Don't buy Renault or Peugeot.

If really have money, buy Lexus convertible or Maserati lah...
