Hi cantbearit2,
:welcome:chergaby:
Wow! Great to know that this thread is active with the 2010 P1 mommies.
DD is gg to P1 @ MCS next yr and we live in Yishun. I also need to look for a before school care for her....
Let's continue to stay active and maybe after the orientation, we can \"jio\" more mummies to join us at KSP as well?
I will be sourcing for a before sch care at near my place at Hougang.
BTW all mummies, read fr the IJ (Toa Payoh) thread that they may consider switching to single session next yr (though it was not planned for initially). Not sure if MCS can do the same too. Anyone know?
MCS plans to go single session eventually but at this juncture, there are not enough classrooms to conduct single session. Currently, the P2 and P3 are sharing classes over 2 sessions.
MCS will only convert to single session after it has been selected for upgrading under MOE's PRIME programme. Unfortunately, there are no available holding schools in the vicinity at the moment. The nearest one at cnr of Toa Payoh Lor 1 & Toa Payoh Rise is being used by St. Nic Sec while their sch is upgrading.
Every year MOE will announce which schools will be selected for upgrading. No mention of MCS undergoing PRIME at this stage. Let's hope MCS will be selected for upgrading in 2012.

Thought they have already undergone PRIME in 1999??? Maybe they will reduce the intake next yr so as to cater for the single session in time to come????MCS will only convert to single session after it has been selected for upgrading under MOE's PRIME programme. The P2 And P3 are in different sessions. The P3 will use the classrooms in the mornings and the P2 will use the same classrooms in the afternoons. So they share the classrooms.

Yes, the current MCS was built in 1999 but heard from the teachers that MCS is waiting for PRIME to be a full single session school. Who knows, maybe after St. Nic completes their upgrading, MCS can use the holding school. Don't know if the school will reduce intake next year. Still accepted enrolments of 240 pupils for 2011...

Hihi
Heard that all Pri Sch in Spore will move towards being single session by 2016.
Not sure when it’s MCS’ turn.
Anyone knows how many classes are there currently?
6 classes of 40 students in primary 1?
Thankyou. -

Can anyone advise…
1) What time does PM session starts & ends?
2) On PE days, are the girls allowed to wear PE attire for the entire day or they hv to change?
TIA! -

Thanks a lot, Tinklebelle.

Hi mommies
Is it true that all primary students will have to learn swimming?
If yes, where is MCS taking the children to swim?
Toa Payoh swimming pool?
Thinking of getting my DD some basics before school starts.
Any mommies sent their darlings for swimming lessons?
Any comments on Yishun Safra swimming classes?
