When demand bounces back, supply can't increase on time. Govt's policy of attracting PRs to replace ageing population & increase fertility rate is not over night thing, Not too long ago, it was reported we have 4 bil population, now 6 bil. What sense is he talking?? :?

Is it true that single PR below 35 yrs old can buy HDB? Thought I read it somewhere...
If true... then kinda sad for single SG...

I thot must be above 35 then can buy 3 room or smaller, and not in those matured (\"popular\") estate ?

I thot pop is only 5.08 million ..... 6 bil is the whole world in a red dot liao ...(okay, i suan people'e typo)
well, he should also ask HDB owners not to compete with private property owners to buy a condo, pushing up condo prices in all corners of Singapore

\"If you already own a HDB property, then, please don't, at this point of time, compete with others to buy condo / landed house unless you're genuinely upgrading and moving out of the HDB.\"\"

It is very disturbing to read views like this. I don't see the posting comes as a joke.

How can HDB owners compete with pte ppty owners? The former's pockets are not as deep. This is no brainer logic.

I think you still cannot believe and cannot accept that there are poor private property owners and there are rich HDB owners.
Yup, recall an old ST article where it was mentioned this guy living in a 4 room flat in Clementi and driving an old toyota car - owns plantations and stocks...worth about 10M in all. this is from many years back.
there still plenty of people out there denying there are rich HDB dwellers / owners

however, they will be some eventually who need to sell as the bridging finance for the new condo is ending (collecting keys to the condo liao, time to pay up) and there is not enough money to service both housing loans if want to hang on to HDB
Rich or not rich is subjective.

In your example above, to me, that person simply mis-calculate his ability to finance or didn't think of any adverse situation (ie in case retrenched in future). This person simply jump into the band wagon as others to take advantage of the low interest rate. But interest rate is not always low.

so why the need to \"feel disturbing ......\" :rotflmao:

How poor can pte ppty owner be? How many rich HDB dwellers? Combined effort > pte ppty owners??

Definition of rich HDB dwellers differs amongst different people.

I stand by own views and present as such. I don't insist that anyone here agree.

They buy with their sibling -- can as long as both PRs can liao :gloomy: :scratchhead:

same as SG if SG siblings want to buy and age below 35 also can
but then they \"pop\" - waste their chances next time they marry or opt out not so coveninent for SG sibling to combine n buy

                      PRs sibling - 2 tog definitely yes below 35 - :faint: :faint: ๐Ÿ˜“ .
