        anxiousmummy:
Just to share my experience as i have 2 children in My First Skool in Bishan. Currently the principal is a malay lady who, as far as i know, is also the principal of the Haig Road centre. I had very bad experience with the previous two principals until this lady came along. With this principal, the first obvious improvement was that teachers' turnover rate dropped tremendously.

My DD (currently in K2) has so far shown that she can read and write (basic English and Chinese) and count (including simple addition and subtraction). Very minimal homework which is what i really like, because my DD goes to the centre from 7 to 7, and i cannot imagine if she has to bring any homework back to do! If there are any 'homework', it will be more towards performing some home activities with parents. The centre has a 'learn by play' approach, which i got to appreciate for my DD because i find that her learning does not come from memorising, but rather from understanding and critical thinking. This being said, i do know of parents who do not share my view because they can't seem to see what the child has learnt because the childcare does not use 'worksheets and classroom style' approach. It took me quite a while to appreciate what 'learn by play' approach is all about. Most important of all, DD is very enthusiatic about going to skool.

My DS is in Nursery, and he can recognise alphabets. He can also sing some cute songs (eg animal songs) and speak some basic mandarin. He can't write yet though, but i don't intend to force him to do so until he is ready because i want him to enjoy his play at school. Like his sister, he seems to enjoy school.
Hi anxiousmummy, my girl also in My First Skool Bishan blk 245. Her teacher is Veron, before that was She lao shi. I have talked to both of them. They are nice and warm persons. and I observed (without them knowing) that they are very patient with the children. did your children had any enrichment classes there? Teacher Veron told me they have Julia Gabriel & Apple Pie. She said maybe next year got abacus class also. Your DD in K2, she had any computer class? Im thinking of transferring my girl to My First Skool at Toa Payoh Central which is nearer to my home. Not sure if the teachers there are as good anot... anyone to share...

              Hi valthong22

Sorry for the late reply. Going to enroll my child in PG.

Their curriculum should be fine with me.

BTW, MFS stand for? Methodist Field School?

Any mummies kids at BP My First Skool?

Is their study programmes to your satisfaction?

              Hi Chatelaine,

I have 2 kids in BP MFS. One in K1 & another in K2. May I ask which level yr child is in? Do you have an issue with their curriculum?

                  Hi,

any mothers here who sent their babies to mfs infant care @ tampines? Any reviews? Iโ€™m thinking of placing my DD to the new infant care @ bedok north blk 503 and the principal would be transferring from tampines.
                  tks

Have not made any complain to mcys yet. Checked with other franchaise branches, told me they cannot ask us to withdrawn our child. So I take a further step to check with the HQ, they will check and get back to me.

If answer is not satisfactory, then I will complain to mcys.

                        Hi,

I am hesitating whether I should enrol my kid to My First Skool(School is under-construction stage will be ready by End Dec 2010). Any parents who has any idea on this school??? Is the programme good?? How about the interior layout of the school for other branches?? Is it like open concept with partition? How about the schl fees??

                        Thank ๐Ÿ™‚
