Thinking of which school to teach at to gain that priority?

Actually just considering all possible legal options at the moment πŸ˜„

My time with my DS is first priority though. I want to be there for him as much as I can.

From what I know, at Phase 2A2 (based on historical records), it's quite 'safe'.

So assuming this scenario where the parent has already started PV, then become a staff of that school, I think you can't clock in anymore hours under 'PV' as whatever you do in the school will be under 'staff' capacity instead.
Okie, thanks for your input πŸ˜„

I was considering that possibility too. But when I asked MOE, they said not possible cos I'm a Secondary school teacher, not a Primary school teacher. πŸ˜› Unless I teach in a 'full school'.

If register under Phase 2A2 (parent is staff teacher of that primary school), it’s definitely higher priority than 2B and 99% confirmed of a place.

              mrswongtuition,

Do you think its due to demand and supply of teachers???

I had a friend who was a secondary school trained teacher who, after a few years, requested to be transferred to a primary school. Her request was granted and she is happily teaching there. But this was more than 5 years ago ....

Anyway, me going back to work will be a major decision, because when I left, it was with the intention that it would be a long haul. So its something that I have to ponder very very deeply about because as mentioned, I want to be there for my DS. Also, DH is fine with the idea of me remaining a SAHM.

Errrrrrrrmmmm, sorri, a bit out of touch here - what is 'full school' :?

                Dear forummers,

Please bear with my incessant questioning. I am new at this πŸ˜„

                Okie, here's another one:

Does staff teacher of the school refer to permanent full-time staff? Does it also apply to relief teachers (long term contract), contract teachers and part-time/ flexi-adjunct teachers? (sorry, I am so lost with the new schemes that they have come up with)

                  Hi autumnbronze,

If you’re planning to use your position as teacher to register your child, then it’s best you check with the school of choice if you can do that. Like what you mentioned, there are several schemes of teachers now.
It’s better this way since you have a better answer.

                    Hi janet_lee88,

Thanks again for sharing your input :hugs:

                    Ummmmmmm, okie.

I am not planning anything, because as mentioned, going back to work will be/is a major decision and it can't be just so to register my child. Taking care of my child is my first priority. So right now, I am just trying to get some answers through the forum from experienced members.

Haven't really narrowed down which schools yet. Still in the midst of exploring options because I have the time. But yes, perhaps if I do decide to go back to work for good, then I will certainly call up the schools for confirmation. πŸ˜„

In the meantime, any forummers who are able to shed any light to the above query pertaining to phase 2A2? Your constructive input will be most appreciated.

Thanks for the info. Haven't read today's papers yet. But it's so sad and stressed to read this. I had my fears when I registered my son back then...hoping there is a phase for those living within 500m.

Just heard from a fren... staying within 500m to a popular sch... but ended up in Phase 3... see MP also no use... shucks...

Education minister will tell you all schools are the same, so it's not that your child doesn't have a school to attend :stupid: . Not only that, MP will tell you that staying within 1km already is already giving priority should balloting take place.
