Managed to contact his teacher and according to her, the pri 1 MOE test is to identify students who need additional coaching in their studies. Results will not be released to parents, not even to form teachers. MOE will only release the names of students who needs the extra coaching.
That's interesting. First time heard of this as well. Pretty considerate for MOE. -
Hi All, I’m a stay-home mum of 2 boys P1 and P2. Currently a few parents and I are facing some issues regarding to P1 form teacher and overall school system. I’m considering whether to transfer my boys which is a big step not only to me but esp to them before it’s too late. I have read the comments from parents about P.C. It seems like there’s a lot emphasis on higher chinese. How’s the school overall? teachers? Do they expect the kid to focus more on CCA than academic for upper level? Is it going to be a single session soon?

Hi. My triplet is going to Poi Ching P1 next year. Just receieved their letter that the orientation will be on 19 Nov. So, really confirm!
Now, to parents of current P1: If you are throwing away the P1 books at the end of the year, pls dump them to me. Many thanks. -

It's a SAP school so naturally there's a lot of emphasis on HCL. Yr child can opt not to do HCL from P5. But then the top few classes study HCL. If yr child doesn't dislike the subject and we parents are \"on the ball\", he should be ok.dondon:
I think most neighbourhood schools are the same, having a mix of committed/good and not-so-committed/good teachers. How's the school overall? teachers?
dondon:
If yr child joins their champion CCAs, practice can be very often especially before competition. These are Volley Ball, Int'l Dance, Chinese Dance, followed by Chinese orchestra and Wushu.Do they expect the kid to focus more on CCA than academic for upper level?

The school is planning to add 2 more storeys in order to go single session. To date, no news on when construction will start. Is it going to be a single session soon?

Get him to ask his teacher for another copy. Alternatively, borrow from his friend to make a copy. -

My boy refused to borrow from his classmate as he was confident his teacher will pass the list to him before friday.... In the end, he sat for his spelling test on friday without practising. ;'(
