Travel: Japan - Hokkaido

Funz:

We are heading to Hokkaido in Dec as well. Now hunting around for winter clothings. All the cold weather wear that we have thus far are for above 0 degrees.


Kids' shoes are a problem. Think will have to go online to find suitable shoes for them.

same here ... shoe a problem.
trying to source online now ... any recommendations to share??

But come to hokkaido, the place is big, cum its winter, and its not so easy to set somewhere as base cos the journey has to go on.

Moreover, needs domestic flight, when i factor in all the cost, i will think package is hassle free.

Yeap, we were thinkg of travelling F&E cos we think joining the tour group is very tiring, got to wake up early in the morning....

We are not sure whether there is any problem travel F&E in Japan during winter and also language problem.

We have decided yet.

yeah..i agree that going free & easy in winter is very challenging. initially, we also thought f &e may be good but after much consideration, going on a tour package is more hassle free at least can sit comfortably in coach most of the time. I have bookeda 8 days to hokkaido and tokyo package with hong thai and departing in mid dec.

I have also initially wanting to do free and easy, but looking at the weather conditions, I have decided to quit and join the tour instead.Now, just sit back rest and relax waiting for the day to come.

I think it should be ok to travel by JR. We did it last year Dec. Didn't do too many areas though. Only from Sapporo to Otaru to Niseko. Was easy enough.
