I do find a lot of MSG in Crystal Jade food. Very thirsty of eating there.

AGREE. After a meal at Crystal Jade, I have no problems going to the loo because of the amount of oil used...also have this thirst in the throat which can't be quenched, could be the MSG and salt.

hihi,

Can help to recommend a good dim sum place at coffee shop or hawker centre??

Sometimes passing by coffee shops and see their dim sum spread is quite wide ranging. But can't remember the place, seems to be 1 at Thomson & 1 at Geylang East...

any recommendation will be welcomed 🙂 can save on the ++, tea, pickle and other misc. charges 😉

Rgds,
Ming
There is 1 at Geylang near the library. It has a red signboard although I cannot remember the name.

We used to go to this stall at the Chinatown Hawker centre above the market. They make their own 猪肠粉 and 叉烧包。Very nice. Also very economical. Not sure if it is still there.

The \"must try\" at Victor's:
• Scallop sausage carrot cake with XO sauce
Oyster sauce char siew bun
Steam chicken with chinese wine
HK Milk tea
Yin Yang
•
The other items on the menu are pretty good as well so it's worth trying everything.

As mentioned by others, it's a very small eatery and it may be difficult to bring your pram along because the place is a little crammed.
Went on last sunday. Tried these & they r really yummy. Their fried carrot cake & water chestnut cake r nice too.
But some of the dim sums (eg. siew mai) r slightly salty to me.

The address can be found in http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?p=114699#114699.

And the menu can be found http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?p=115841#115841. But it was taken back in January, so not sure still valid or not.

We had lunch at Victor’s Kitchen last Friday. We were there just shortly before 12 noon, and one third of the seats were taken. In the next 15/20 minutes, the place became full house with the lunch crowd. But i notice the turnover of customers were quite fast. Food was served shortly after the order was submitted.

I particularly like the lotus leaf glutinous rice, which comes with a nice salted egg york. The special HK ice lemon tea is strong n fragrant. But…almost every dish is a tad too saltish for me, except the glutinous rice. Will I go again? Probably yes, but only if I’m around the area.

Sorry 😛 forgot to indicate block number. Only remember there is a town council and Mcdonalds beside it. Will check.

Think you meant Jurong East Street 24. Very famous bao stall there.
