      Fuzz:
I checked out the xi yang yang youtube videos. Not bad, quite cute! But some of the characters speak quite fast and I find it sometimes hard to catch what they're saying.

I let my boy watch and he didn't seem to follow the dialogue at all. Maybe it's the strong chinese accent. But he was quite amused just by watching the cartoon and actually sat through till the end of the video. Which to me, is better than nothing! At least some exposure to chinese language!
I bought a xi yang yang movie dvd and my kids absolutely loved it - btw, they usually ignore any non-english cartoons. Looking to buy the other xi yang yang dvds (apparently there are more than 1000 episodes - faint).

Good news, NLB has a couple of titles http://catalogue.nlb.gov.sg/cgi-bin/cw_cgi?fullRecord+9376+3002+13177467+3+2 (喜羊羊与灰太狼电影版. 牛气冲天).

I know xyy is big when I see a neighbourhood furniture shop selling xyy imprinted study table. thought it was quite funny.

Oh thanks! Gd idea, I can borrow some from the library and see if my boy is really keen on them before buying. My mum bought some random chinese cartoon dvds and my boy was totally uninterested so I don't want more white elephants lying around! I hope he enjoys it. I don't know if he showed interest in the youtube cartoon becos he likes the computer, or becos he really enjoyed the cartoon!!

I was at Northpoint the day before and it was selling at $11.50 per DVD (5 DVDs altogether). I should head down to TPY today!

I only saw in that one shop hor. The box is fairly big under cartoon tray - pack 1 is episodes 1 to 50, etc etc; not all packs there (only have like 1, 4,5 if it's still there). Tried to find in another cd shop in TPY but they dun stock.

in any case, dangdang sells these also - I think plus postage also quite cheap.

NLB also has some of the comics - not many titles though.

I kinda think that it is hot. According to wiki, there are more than 1000 episodes....longer than 'Ai', no? hee hee
