      loner:
Is the roller coaster open to public yet and is there a height limit? Is there any wet rides and do we have to bring spare clothes to change? Will we be able to cover the whole studio just in 1 day cos' was told it wasn't as big as the one in US....

Which roller coaster r u refering to? Battlestar Calactica (Scary One) is still closed, Enchanted Airways (OK) is open. Yes there is a height limit abt 1.2 - 1.4m for some rides. Only 1 wet ride (Rapid Adventure), it all depends on where u r seated. We wore poncho but still wet (not too bad, only feet soaked and head wet) With the hot sun, we were dry in no time.*Must remember to put yr stuff in the locker if u don't want it to be soaked. Locker are very expensive, cost us $16.00 for 2 lockers (abt 1hr+ due to the long Q)

If u want to go for all the rides, then I guess 1 day is not enough. There are quite a few performances and mascots too.

I brought extra clothes. Depending on where you are seated. My girl’s shoes were drenched and spolt. Though she wore poncho, she got splashed. Bought a pair of slippers there.

          Kids poncho costs $1 there.

            Hi loner,

Sorry, not sure but don't think it's going to be soon. Hope it'll be open by Nov/Dec hols. For my own benefit 👅, hope it will only be open after I bring my girls there during the hols. On 1 side, very scared of this ride n on the other side, don't want to disappoint DD1 coz she is really keen and needs company too. 😢

I think there was some technical fault, when they did a test run, something went wrong but I think in Singapore should be very safe, so they are doing all they can to work on it to make sure nothing goes wrong..I think Singapore super safe and kiasu may take a while before they open the ride..my kids have been badgering me abt it too..it looks the most exciting!

                  'The seat came off': RWS

                  05:55 AM Aug 21, 2010

SINGAPORE - Almost five months after the Battlestar Galactica roller-coaster - the star attraction at Resorts World Sentosa's (RWS) Universal Studios theme park - was suspended, RWS revealed on Friday what actually happened: A seat had come off during a daily test run.

The incident occurred on March 25 - a week after the soft opening of Universal Studios - and the ride was \"immediately shut down for investigative inspection and testing\", said RWS, citing the findings of preliminary investigations.

\"No one was on the ride and no one was injured\", RWS said.

After months of \"extensive inspection, testing and review\" by its manufacturer, Vekoma Rides, as well as other experts - including third-party ride experts - Vekoma Rides concluded that the \"higher than anticipated stress and vibration levels\" weakened the ride's seat-post support.

A \"new machined seat-post component\" will replace the original welded component and strength-reinforcement parts will also be added to the ride,\" said RWS.

RWS could not put a date to the roller-coaster's re-opening.

\"(It) will be a lengthy process that will begin only after a final engineering solution has been manufactured and installed\", RWS said. After which, the ride would have to be subjected to testing and re-certification by the relevant authorities.

Seat fell without anyone in it. During routine testing lah. Once it is opened, I will go USS again to try it out - die hard fan of roller coaster.
