i considering to put my sons to yishun branch for phonics and 3G abacus any feedback for this two enrichment

      zoan,

I'm also keen on these, as well as Speech and Drama... but is their phonics at yishun branch? The website did not state it... http://www.edufarm.com.sg/Blk%20108%20Yishun%20Ring%20Road.htm

Also, what's the review like? I've got a home-based phonics but need to compare to see which is better.. the commercial ones are too expensive, except for edufarm of course!

the web site didi not state, i call them personal, now in the waiting list for Blk 108

I've called up edufarm too! Just told him I'm ok with any yishun / sembawang branch.. hopefully it means more chance of getting a class! I've signed up for Tots phonics, gym and music.. but prob just one term, cos next year she's 4 and I suppose it'll be the N4 class bah?

Just hoping to give her a headstart for phonics before she starts her N2 next year... and will try this cheaper phonics, if not good, then will have to pay more $ for a established one.. sigh...

            Zoan,

Yeah, DD is born in 2007. Your #2 is 2007 too?

Edufarm says about 1 person on waitlist… he said about 2 - 3 weeks time? Dunno if he’s being optimistic!!

How’s the RC one? The cost? How’s the ratio? Cos edufarm website stated about 10 person per class right?

But if ours kids are 2007, next year will be 4, so can take the RC one bah? Is it also Letterland phonics?

Anyhow, the PCF I applied for apparently does not teach phonics… hmmm… so I think I really better give her some phonic class! How about your PCF? Do they teach phonics??

yes #2 is 2007. the letterland is different fr the RC, i saw the video fr their web and they stated the couse fr N1 to P1. they teach the ABCs than the sound. RC wan u hav to kn ur ABCs and they will have worksheets to do.RC $110 per term, 20-24 students sometimes even more but will not more than 27. At first i also worry about the ratio but after a few lesson my son can follow it n he likes to attend the class. This teacher is vy gd in teaching children got a lots of good feedback fr the parents. And the waiting list is vy long that time i wait for 4months some even 1yr long.

PCF only teach the simple sound they don teach blending. BTW where is the PCF centre ur DD study?

BTW what does DD and DS mean? I kn u all r talking abt ur children but i catch no ball for DD and DS.........................

                Zoan,

Wow.... the RC class is very big!! No wonder it's cheaper.... edufarm sounds better with smaller intake... So you're waiting for RC and edufarm?

So PCF does not teach blending huh? Cos was reading the thread that some PCF use Jolly Phonics so wondering why mine so different... hmmm....

How about their speech and drama? Did you also put your son for the tots music and tots gym waitlist?

But have you seen the edufarm classroom? I never get the chance... Is it quite run down?

Will likely be enrolling my gal in chong pang pcf 309, the one in sembawang, with the reggio emillia approach. But it's a hefty $190+ / mth... well, hopefully it'll pay off!

I've scouted the other PCF there... Even the so-called premier programme at PCF canberra (8 am - 3 pm) block 330 for K1 and K2 is not better! It's just MORE time on chinese and gym... and there's 1 hour of nap... I don't need to pay $$ for that! Hehehe... I'm just planning ahead for K1...

How about your PCF? Ummm... maybe we should take our discussion to the PCF thread... 😄

I on the edufarm waiting list the RC wan i haven go register yet cause my son haven reach the min age. Plus for Edufarm don kn need to wait how long cause some of thread say wait more than half yr still not start yet.
As i kn the Edufarm is using those RC Zone for teaching the lesson for chongpang 108. I thinking that should be very bascially class room same others RC zone. I only in the phonics, 3G Abacus and Mental Maths waithing list

i will continue the discussion @ pcf thread

Is the quality of teachers and teaching materials all the same for all branches? Are they good? How about the one at Yishun, around CP under one of the blocks there? Are the teachers and teaching good? I am looking at the phonics and art classes there. TIA.
