Is it decided by MOE or the individual schools, whether to take in 3rd lang test marks into the total % or GPA calculation ?

I have heard in HCI and DHS, the students can choose to take in or not to take in the test marks of 3rd lang into their end of year % calculation. Is it true ? :?
Usually GPA is calculated using Maths English Chinese Science, and the highest among History/Geography/3rd Lang.

So if 3rd lang is better than hist. and geog, it will be calculated into the GPA.

I think. Don't rely on me:) I may be wrong

How many of your children are still taking 3rd language at the end of Year 1? I know a lot of kids have dropped it already.

French, German, Japanese for the top 10% (if I recall correctly).
Arabic, Chinese (for those who didn't do CL in primary school) and Malay (for those who didn't do ML in primary school).

since we are on this, in your opinion, between German and French, which would you choose, and why ? thanks!

But some people prefer German because it's a more useful language in that it's more commonly used in Europe.
