What is lowest PSLE aggregate you can score with 4A*?

Although it is good to get more A*, but in reality, it is the PSLE aggregate score to meet the cut off point that matters. The computer only recognizes the aggregate when processing school selection, so the key criterion is the PSLE aggregate.


Eg, last year one of my student scored 3 A* for EMS but he got B for MT, aggregate 240 go to neighborhood school.

About 245 to 246.

No special formula. My computation is based on raw score x 0.712.

The magic figure of 0.712 was derived from those years of sleepless nights, trying to figure out what my kids T-score would be and it is pretty accurate and consistent for a \"normal\" PSLE i.e. without killer paper.

If there is a killer paper and the student does well for that paper, his T-scope will be higher than that computed using 0.712. (the increment is more if you get A* for the killer paper). The reverse is true. The subjects that affect the T-score most are Chinese and Math so die die must do well.

Sorry read your earlier post wrongly mistaken normal A* to be normal A.

Nobody knows the T-score for each subject every year, so it is difficult to speculate because there is no past, present and future statistics for comparison.
I come across 4A* getting 259, 3A* 1A getting 266, so my judgement is the student who gets 266 did better than the one who gets 4A* because 266 can get a better school. Of course the best is to get both 4A* and a high aggregate.

Too bad he did not have DSA. I heard some GEP students were caught this way too, getting 240+ and no DSA.

Agreed with James, it depend high A or low A. My dd T-score 236, 1A*, 2A and 1B, but the cousin 4A, T score 231 and the sd for eash subject.
